Q: How are these for ankle support on rocky trails?

Outstanding support on all types of terrain including rocky trails. Great support for a previously sprained ankle. I owned a pair for 15 years and great traction/support for all types of hiking surfaces.

Q: Is the tounge gusseted?

It is. This is one of the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had. Great for my plantar fasciitis and flat feet.

Q: Will these boots work for dog walking in snowy, cold or slushy conditions?

Waterproof up to the top of the hiking boot in snow, rain, or watery conditions. Keeps feet dry in winter. Supportive, comfortable, great traction, and non-slip on ice/snow/water/rocks/hills. Great winter and year round hiking boot.
