Deadpool Classic Companion Paperback – 28 April 2015

This is where it began. This is also a less shocking version of SO, arguably more kid friendly. Lots of great art and story here.

This book was really good. I liked that it collected all of Deadpool's early comic book appearances. My favorites were the Wolverine comics that Deadpool appeared in. Overall, I would recommend this book to Deadpool fans who want to complete their reading collection.

Really cool comic. Super fun read

This collection is a good place to start reading about Deadpool if you've never heard of him but love Marvel comics or the Marvel movies.As much as I like the almost limitless humorous situations he's in, and there are many in this book, what makes Deadpool interesting is his unpredictability, which is almost always tied in with whoever hired him to do something. This formula is repeated over and over through his many crossover appearances in these comics, with varying degrees of success.Which brings me to my next point..ART: the art in this book is mainly early to late 90's stuff, with Liefield's work looking really bold especially for it's time. I enjoyed most of the artwork for what it was, and as someone who grew up in that time period maybe I'm pretty forgiving about the bad stuff, which coincidentally are most of his appearances with Wolverine and the worst b-team of "Avengers" (if you can even call them that) I've ever seenSTORY: let's face it, Deadpool is not a deep or even interesting character. It's his situational and topical humor that set's him apart in a world of overly dark and angry "hero" characters that I'm tired to name and you should already know. In this book, we learn he has a thing for red heads, a love/hate relationship with Wolverine, and a tendency to wisecrack through an intense action scene while he acrobats like a certain other Marvel superhero in red spandex.FINAL THOUGHTS: Book good, art good, stories ok, character? ... not for me but if you're a Deadpool fan or know someone who is, definitely give it a shot.
