Galaxy S7 Active Case, POETIC Affinity Series Premium Thin/No Bulk/Clear/Dual Material Protective Bumper Case for Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (2016) Black/Clear

Does ANYONE make a decent case for the S7 Active? I'm thinking not....including Poetic. Sure, its a nice looking case, fits the phone snugly, and isn't too bulky. Its just too bad the case is rendered completely useless thanks to the poor design/placement/fitment of the side touch buttons, mostly notably the "active" button. I've read many reviews of people complaining about the active button with this case, but also read an equal amount of reviews exclaiming it wasn't an issue. Welp, apparently, its a crapshoot. The case I received is so bad, as soon as the case is installed over the phone, the active button is depressed and will not release. I literally have to force my fingernail between the case and the edge of the phone and pry the case away to get it to let loose of the active button. As soon as I remove my fingernail, it depresses the button again and holds it down. Obviously this is a no-go and the case will be returned to seller as DEFECTIVE. This is the third case I've tried for my new S7 Active (all 3 different cases) and, without being overly picky or trivial, all of them have had at least one significant flaw that made them unusable. So, my advice-- if you're a gambler and you typically have good luck, go ahead and order this case. Maybe you'll be a winner. I wasn't.

I really love this case. It's tough but relatively subtle in design, and adds a decent amount of grip and texture to the edges. The case fit is very snug on my Galaxy S7 Active, so snug in fact that it's a bit of a chore to take the case on and off. I don't mind that at all though, as I think it should fit nice and tight and keep the phone protected. The button give/softness is decent, although I admit I had to use a touch of heat to 'soften' the case button that touches the 'Active' key. It was a bit too snug and would keep the button pressed down. After that tweak, I'm completely happy with the case.The clear shell polycarbonate is hard and rigid, but with enough flex to let you get the phone in and out for maintenance and cleaning. The corner and button TPU plastic seems to be molded well enough, and the buttons work independently even in the cold. The polycarbonate scratches relatively easily but I think a little character isn't a bad thing in a case ;)

Exactly what I was looking for. First one I tried was too everything -- too big, too bulky, too heavy, too difficult to get my hands around. This is just what the S7 needs -- a front bezel to protect the screen from hitting at an odd angle and breaking (yes, this can be done. Ask me how I know) but not so over the top that it turns a really nicely sized device into a behemoth. I also love that it has no screen protector built in. I use my own glass protection. All the buttons worked perfectly right off the bat. I slipped the case on and that was that. Wireless charging is flawless. The logo on the back doesn't bother me personally. I've not had it long enough to see if it will discolor, but at ten bucks if it did and it bothers me, I'll just buy a new one.

Purchased for a Samsung S7 active. Case has a slim profile, fits well in the hand. It does not seem to provide as much drop protection as other cases I've had in the past, but that's the tradeoff for a slim design, and drop resistance is part of the reason I bought an S7 in the first place. I do NOT have issues with the action button as others have. I would give three and a half stars, if possible. Minor complaints: Deduct half a star because the case could use an extra bit of rubber on the sides to improve grip. I may correct with a little plastidip. Deduct a full star because while the case was easy to install, it's going to take quite a bit of work to take off the phone. I didn't give other reviews that gave the same negative much thought, but this thing is on to stay. I'm worried I could damage the phone or screen protector I installed if I ever have to take off. Overall, not a bad case, especially for the price.

I love it. I was worried because I don't like hard shell cases and also heavy bulk. I tried Pelican, Body Glove, wouldn't even touch Otterbox because of the size. I needed something I could "mod" since there is not a functional case for the S7 Active. The Poetic Affinity looked to be a great start. When I first got the case and put it on I thought "Oh no". The shine of it scared me and I immediately took it off to send back. I'm very glad I didn't. I put it back on and used it for a day and started falling in love with how it felt, so good in the hand. The grip is awesome and although I love the grip of the naked S7 Active, I actually think it is even grippyer than ever because of the awesome side grip material. The screen protective lip on the front of the case gives me no pause when I lay it down on its screen. I use the Skinomi matte screen protector and the case does not interfere with it at all. They actually compliment each other very well. The other "mods" I have done.... I stuck a nite Ize Eclipse belt clip on it. I placed it on the bottom of the case so when I clip it on backpacks, kayaks and fishing tackle bag or my pocket the sound is not pointing away from me and I can hear it ring or notifications. I also tied a paracord Lanyard to clip to this awesome case. The case accommodates the mods perfectly and has really upped the functionality of this really awesome, rugged phone without adding bulk. BTW..... All buttons and cutouts work incredibly well. No problems whatsoever. I am very satisfied with this case. What an awesome case for the price. I am so happy they are making it.

Only reason I gave it a lower rating than I would've is because my wife had already bought me this exact case, but I had to return it because it was too tight on the power button and kept turning on my phone. After asking people who bought this item, I found out that not all the cases were like that. Some had problems with the active button instead and some didn't have any problems at all. So I decided to try and buy it one more time. The second one I got fits much better. It is however much more sensitive on my active button so it goes off easily, but I'm having less problems with the second case than the first.
