920D CustomLes Paul Wiring Harness with Pickup Splitting

This comes with quality parts, the tones are good and the customer service is top notch. One of the pot did not work. I contacted 920 directly about the issue and had a replacement sent within hours. With little soldering skills, it installed quickly and easily. Not the first 920 product I’ve used. So good

I consider myself fairly handy but I found installation difficult. Note: I am a novice when it comes to guitar repair.I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro with split coil pickups. I could not find a diagram that really showed me which wires go where. I personally tried to wire these 3 separate times. I could get the guitar to make sound, but it was never correct. Either the push-pull didn't do anything, or the volume wasn't dynamic, etc...Finally I broke down and took it to Guitar Center and the tech instantly knew what the issue was and wired it properly. End result is amazing however - sounds awesome. Big change! Full volume almost sounds like I have another boost pedal.

If you don’t mind the tone knobs pulling the shaft completely out of the pot the first time you remove the knob then this is what you’ve been looking for!

I threw away money on this purchase. I’ve had success with other 90D pre wired products like a strat pickguard. But I didn’t have a good experience with this one. The best part of this is now I have a nice fixture to mount the other potentiometers to, to wire up (the ones I had to buy to make this work). I did end up using the volume pots this came with but when pressing on my bridge volume nob to the post the pot broke and now it rattles around. So that will be replaced as well. I’ve basically paid for this product twice now with everything I had to buy to replace the bad/cheap components. You may have a better experience but I would say spend a little more and get a mojotone or lollar prewire for your LP or SG. I wish I had.

Good quality components. Good solder points. Easy to install. Sound good once installed. The only thing I don’t like is how the volume pots have a different feel than the tone pots. The volume pots are much easier to turn (require less torque). I prefer the feel of the tone pots but that is just my preference. Either way I feel like all of the pots should have the same consistency in feel when turned. Other than this small complaint everything seems solid.

The time it would have taken me to buy, assemble, solder and install this wiring harness was not worth it when 920D did it for me. The harness works perfectly and like always I am never disappointed with their products.

Added coil taps to my son's Les Paul and he loves being able to pull it on for that single coil sound. The pots are smooth and no scratching at all, and nice constant change. It was also cheaper adding this to the guitar than it was buying one with it already. This is especially true if, like him, you plan to upgrade the pickups anyway.

I read a review saying a shaft pulled out trying to change a knob. Quality problems slip through sometimes so I took it with a grain of salt. Well, same thing happened to me. Yes, the shaft pulled out on me too. The product used some quality components, but not all. For a few dollars more, quality parts would make this a great product. I ordered the quality parts to put in myself. I'm not willing to have new bad parts replacing other new bad parts. Needs more clear instructions too.
