Chopin: Piano Cto In E Minor Op 11 / Mazurkas Op 3

Phenomenal young Korean pianist
Mr. Cho played Rachmaninoff's 2nd Concerto with the NY Philharmonic in the fall. I was so impressed by the clarity and spirit of his playing that I started exploring further. He won first prize in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2015, and was promptly signed up by DG, which released a CD from his competition performances. As impressed as I was by that, I searched further and found that the Chopin Institute had issued its own CD to complement the DG collection - no overlaps. Wonderful performance of Concerto No. 1 and excellent shorter pieces. The thing about Cho's playing is that everything is rendered cleanly but he is not cautious. There is real spirit and individuality in his playing.
