FlexGuard Support Full Back Brace

I was very happy with my purchase from Flexguard Support. This is a very high quality product at a fair price. Other braces are either way over valued or dirt cheap to the point where they're ineffective. Quick story time as to why I needed the Flexguard Brace. I am relatively very young for someone buying a posture brace. I am 21 years old. I noticed my insanely poor posture during a college class where a webcam was used to broadcast both my teacher and our class on a screen. I could clearly see my slumped back and forward leaning neck and I knew right away it was the start of kyphosis. After that every time I looked in the mirror it was apparent how noticeable it actually was. I am also PCA at a hospital so I knew how important it was to have a healthy back for both my health and the quality of my work. I tried being more mindful of my posture and doing stretches 3 times a day but I saw real change when I actually purchased this brace for Flexguard and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. It fits under my shirts and isn't noticeable unless I point out I am wearing a brace. I wouldn't recommend wearing the brace for an extended length of time especially if you are doing anything mobile like bending over, squatting,or jumping as the brace will ride up and it's kind of hard to get it back in position without taking everything off. I tried wearing the brace for a whole 12 hour shift and I ended up taking it off half way through. What I do now is when I get home from school or work or whenever I have an hour or 2 at my desk at home I will put on the brace and become mindful of my posture for a few hours. I find that this is more than enough time to make a difference and I saw changes in my posture on the first day and long term change after 3 days of using the brace. I highly recommend this product if you have a similar situation.

I got this last week and have worn it 3 days so far at work under my dress shirt for around 10 hours straight each day. My primary goal was to correct and maintain minor slouching posture. I found it comfortable and helpful in posture correction and could have worn it longer if I had to. The package arrived well packed with instruction booklet that also had hints and some excersises for improving posture and back health. You get the brace and two pads that can be rolled up underneath the armpits for extra comfort if so desired. I didn't need them. It appears to be sturdy and well made. As stated previously, no problems in wearing it over a t-shirt and underneath a dress shirt for about 10 hours each day. Upper posture correction was pretty good giving a gentle pull to the shoulders. Only problem I found was that the waist portion kept on riding up especially if one kept sitting down or bending over. This meant loosing up my belt and reaching under my dress shirt to pull the waist belt portion downwards, several times during the day. I have a flat stomach so that may have made it worse. Those with a little bit of a tummy might find that wrapping the belt portion under the protruding belly would actually help resist this problem. Overall though, other than that minor caveat, a well made item very suited to my purpose of posture correction.

I've tried several braces of this kind. A brace like this might help some people with 'forward head' problems--for example people who sit at a computer for long periods of time, etc.--but I now know that the pelvis is the critical key to good posture along with thinking 'up' (with the crown of your head). Check your posture by holding a dowel rod against your back. The dowel rod should touch 3 places--(1.) your sacrum, (2.) your upper back around T7 or T8 ("T" means 'thoracic vertebra') about where a woman's bra strap would be, and (3.) the back of your head. Another great, easy way to improve your posture? Go to youtube.com, look up " Feldenkrais exercises" and DO the exercises along with the instructor. Don't just sit in a chair and watch the guy on TV do them and say to yourself, "That exercise doesn't LOOK like it would do anything" (you'd be surprised how many people do this)--because the very power of Feldenkrais lies in its slow, thoughtful movements which re-train the central nervous system. Trust me, they work. I love Feldenkrais exercises because they're comfy, lazy, almost massage-feeling movements that make you limber faster than any gym routine could do.

I'm going to keep this simple. I love it!! I am 6',1", and 200 lbs and I went with the large which when adjusted all the way out it fits perfectly. Allows my shoulders to be right where they are supposed to be, and the waist is just right. I highly recommend only wearing it 30 min to 1 hour at first, and work your way up as I went straight for half a work day on day one (4 hours), and had some back pain before bed. I work at a computer all day so I have been out of wack for a while now as my shoulders have rounded forward, and I had no clue!!. I definitely see a difference in my stance when wearing it, and I definitely feel it in my upper back muscles. Slight pain, but manageable. I feel that's a good way of telling me its doing its job! I am excited for what's to come as I've been working out again, and having the right posture when exercising as we all know is very important! Great Product!

This is my second posture corrector to review from FlexGuard Support and I must say, they really know how to correct your posture! I’m an advanced certified yoga facilitator (RYT-500) and self-professed ergonomics and anatomy guru, and have been researching the posture correctors in order to recommend to my students. I was left in great disappointment until I found this posture corrector amongst all the impostures (pun intended). I just got this and was so disappointed. It looked substantial and had lots of good reviews. The only thing to like was ....that it was delivered quickly. I had a similar product from Amazon in the past that was great. I might have loaned it to a family member. None of these posture correctors force you into good posture. If they did, it would not help strengthen necessary muscles. Instead, they put enough pressure to remind you, and you can tell how to correct your posture from the pressure. They also make slumping uncomfortable. They do give minor assistance to correct further than you could without the corrector. The problem is this item DOES NONE OF THAT. I tried it on. Nothing. I had to of course take it off to adjust the straps since there is no way to put this on and make minor shoulder strap adjustments. I took it off twice more to tighten the shoulder straps. Finally, I had them so tight that it was very difficult to get it on. It constricted under my armpits. Yet, there was ZERO backward pressure on my shoulders. I slumped into poor posture with ZERO support and no additional resistance. --- the further you slump the more resistance it should exert. What is the point of this? Why didn't I give it a 1 ???? It got here promptly, it did not stink, and the stitching looked durable. It going back and I will see if I can search my order history and get the same one I had before, Don't waste any more time considering this item.

It is my hope to make this a review over a span of one year. This is day one. I am NOT paid for this review. I am 5'5" weigh 147 pounds and my waist measured over my belly button is 34". My LARGE brace fits quite well; I needed to adjust the length of the shoulder straps so that they did not cut into my arm pits. I have been able to wear the brace as comfortably as I could have expected for four hours today. Over the next several weeks my goal is to wear the brace eight hours a day. I will not wear the brace when I go to the gym five times a week. I am 88 years old and in decent shape. The product seems quite well made. I am attempting to reduce a dull back pain 8" from my right shoulder edge. UPDATE AFTER ONE WEEK I have bee able to wear my brace on average 5 hours each day. I sense that the brace is bringing relief to the dull pain on my shoulder. I am no able to awaken in the moring in almost an upright position and the usual sharp pain has been reduced considerably. I, personally, have been wearing the brace against my bare back and waist rather than over a t-shirt; I have found that it fits better at my waist and over the shoulders in this fashion.

Very slow delivery, without tracking. Delivered later than originally indicated. No seller communication on deliver status and seller unresponsive to contact. No instructions for correct fitting / application of product. Warranty registration website does not work. Product is ok. Posture guide book is interesting.

This is a quality product that will help you become more aware about your posture and will prevent slouching when you wear it by pulling your shoulders back. Highly recommended

I have tried another posture corrector, and it was not strong enough to support my horrible posture for a length of time. This one seems to be durable. It has sturdy velcro fastening at the waist, with extra thin "belts" on top, and loops around shoulders with covers for comfort. Generally feels strong and secure. Shoulder straps are adjustable length. In terms of sizing, I have used the table and ordered large. It was fine everywhere, but the shoulder straps were a bit too loose. It is probably based on men's physique. So I contacted the seller, and they have immediately replaced it with a smaller size, no hassle at all. So very happy with the customer support too.
