not great quality but does the job
needs to be sanded - very rough and easily splinters. Otherwise is as described.

Great desk, one flaw or oversight in design, but highly recommended overall
Great desk. legs are adjustable for three heights.Overall, seems stable and functional. I love that it respects that left handers are people too.On the left side there's a concave for a beverage, they should have left this off. it's not big enough for anything larger than the (bottom pulled in base) of a soda can. Won't work for a coffee mug, travel mug, one of those plastic reusable insulated mugs with the straw (like you can buy at Starbucks). Generally, it renders the the top left 1/3 of the left surface as unuseful for anything that requires balance. Having said that, I keep my TV remote there, so it's not wasted space, just of limited use.the one obvious flaw or omission: the legs don't lock. they do spread fairly wide beyond the surface of the desk, so I haven't had it collapse on me, but If I want to just pick it up and move it I have to clear everything off of it because my hands have to be free to reset the legs if they get caught on a blanket or whatever. same issue you will notice with cheaper TV trays. Put the locking hardware on it manufacturer, it can't cost that much, and you will save a lot of spills and other accidents if you do so. I'm going to the hardware store, I'm sure I can find fasteners that will work, but I did pay $40.00 for it. From a consumer perspective, I can fix it (not everyone will have this technical ability), but I really shouldn't have to. locked in stability is a considerably "nice to have" if not a basic feature that should be included.

i love this so much UPDATED REVIEW
ordered this so i can finish the move to get off the computer desk and play my games from the couch or bed. Originally ordered a cushion style laptop holder but am so very glad i got this more structured one. This is PERFECT for my needs. Its large enough to hold my keyboard and mouse and whatnots on the side like pen, notebooks, i even use the coffee holder tho only on a solid surface as the well is not that deep. The drawer in the side holds the bit of wood that acts as a ledge to perch a kindle on, you can then elevate the platform for your viewing preferences. its so luxurious. Mine arrived promptly and was so easy to set up. i dont need to extend the legs and use the default setting. what works better for me is perching this on top of my ottoman and using it like a desk, absolutely perfect for that, very stable. the wood grain is so pretty too. i have to use a mouse pad unlike others tho, too much traction with my mouse otherwise. will look into their other products. will update as i get my gaming laptop regarding heat issues.UPDATE:ive had it now a long time and guess what, I rarely use it. Why? its that I dont have furniture to fit it. You need a wide chair with a good length on it so the table can fit over your legs, yet with enough distance from your body to be able to use it. On our sofa and ottoman the legs of the table dont allow your body to fit in there also and have room. In other words, it fits on furniture so long as you dont sit with it. doesnt work in bed like I thought unless you have a good back board so you can be propped up, but even then its awkward as your legs go numb and you cant adjust your position without completely lifting the table up and moving it over, then repositioning. just a hassle to use really

Every college student and telecommuter NEEDS this.
This tray is the best thing I've ever purchased. I would go so far as to call it essential for any person who works at home on their laptop. It's finals week and this has been a really intense term and my 27-year-old back/shoulders/neck have been killing me from so much time spent hunched over on a laptop. Due to the back pain, I had begun to take my laptop in bed with lots of pillows behind me, but that wasn't really working either. This tray solves all my problems. I can lay back in bed and my computer is brought up and forward to me at the most perfect angle. I can sit on the couch and work with the tray over my lap and the tray top flat. I can basically have a desk anywhere--comfortably! I was skeptical about this purchase. I thought it might be a bust. I thought it could be one of those things that sounds cool in the moment so you buy it because why not, it's late at night and you're on Amazon. Instead it's far exceeded all my hopes. First off, I was getting set to take out some tools and put it together when it arrived. I take it out of the box and GUESS WHAT. No assembly required. All I did was adjust the leg height up (you don't need tools for that). I've since adjusted it back down and I'm trying to decide which one I prefer. I would just like to mention that, as I'm typing this, I'm noticing how perfectly the piece that holds your computer from sliding off toward you is sized. I have a MacBook Air 15" and the wooden piece is about 6". It allows the perfect amount of room to place your wrists down on either side and type normally while maximally supporting your laptop in the center.Things I'm not so crazy about:- The finish/color. It's not my style. It doesn't go with my decor.- The drawer. I thought the drawer was a cool touch when I ordered it, like when you love a dress and then it ALSO has pockets! The best. But the drawer is kind of annoying. When you move the tray, it sort of slides out sometimes. Not all the way, but enough to be annoying. And it's not really big enough to put anything substantial in. I threw some flashcards in there.- I wish there was a way to lock the legs in place when it's folded up. This is also something that's not an issue until you are transporting it and then you just feel like you need two hands. You can't carry this thing under one arm. Too many pieces will swing around.- There could be one lower setting between flat and the current lowest setting.- The cupholder isn't really a cupholder. It doesn't need to be there at all. It's not necessary. But if you're going to have a cupholder, make it an actual cupholder. This is more like a suggestion that you should have a beverage. And that's it for the cons list. This thing is awesome. My back feels great. I could work on my computer all day with this setup, and I have been. I started using this tray 4 days ago and it's changed my life. I've told all my friends about it. I Snapchatted about it.In addition to everyone who works on a laptop at home, people who watch TV/movies on their laptop also need to own this. It places your screen right in front of your face even when you're laying down, which is awesome. I have a renewed romance with my laptop since buying this tray because it's so much easier and more comfortable to see and use now.
