I recently purchased the WD My Passport Ultra 5TB hard disk and I am absolutely happy with its performance. I managed to snag this incredible piece of technology for just 8799₹, and I must say it has exceeded all my expectations.One of the standout features of this hard disk is its impressive speed. The media could not be loaded. Getting it out of the way first, the main reason speeds are low on this HDD out of the box is not because HDD is defective or of low quality but the provided cable! WD’s USB-C cable is pathetic & please don’t use it at all (it’s loose and doesn’t provide USB-3.0 Speeds). Using that, I was only able to get upto 40mbps max on this drive.Most people return the HDD then & there believing that it’s a poor quality product and give 1 star reviews showing poor data transfer speeds.But I did some research and found out that drive is perfectly modern and high quality with support upto 120mbps+ speeds, you just need to use USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable (see the video I uploaded) to extract most out of this HDD.So rest assured, everything else is great, premium build (top feels like metal), compact size for 5TB HDD, doesn’t heat up much, modern USB-C connectivity (especially useful for USB-C only Macs).It doesn’t have a rubber casing to protect itself from shocks/drops, etc, so do use a hard case to protect it at all times as HDDs have mechanical/moving parts which can damage if bumped/dropped.Apart from that pricing is great (I mean ₹10k for 5TB means you are getting ₹2k per 1 TB, what else one can want)! Go for it without hesitation.For MAC/iPad users, format the drive to exFAT to use it properly with your device (out of the box, it comes with NTFS, which is for windows only).Also, I’m reducing 1 star from the review as WD should have provided better USB cable out of the box, but now buyers have to spend another ₹500-600 just to buy the Gen 2 cable to extract proper speeds out of this thing. Otherwise it’s a great product and you can buy it no issues.PS: If you found this informative, do it “helpful” button!

Good read and write speed. Comes with USB-C to C cable with a USB-C to USB converter also. If your laptop has USB-C port, then you can get maximum performance. You can even plug to your phone and transfer data to and from. Beware if you want to take out its drive and put inside your laptop, YOU CAN NOT as this drive is not a standard 2.5 inch drive.

So far working perfectly. One of my friend had purchased the Seagate one and it failed in his laptop. And this is working great for me as of now. So would recommend this

I would like to bring to everyone's notice that if you are placing your order for any electronic items from Amazon; please avoid as I'm facing a grave issue post the order was delivered by Amazon.Please read this review carefully for people shopping in festive sale.I recently bought this HDD from Amazon in Great Indian Festive Sale in October 2024. The product was delivered within 4 hours to me. I opened the package & attached the HDD to my laptop using the provided cable. However, to my horror the HDD turned to be dead & din't work on my laptop. I even tried on my desktop as well but same issue. Moreover, I tried using my own cable but same issue. The HDD din't show in the system only.Then I raised for a complaint over Amazon for defective product; I was quite surprised that the product will be replaced from the service center & I've to visit for the same. However, after a while I got contacted by another Amazon representative & they asked me to give them 2 days time period so that they can follow-up to this issue with the brand itself which is WD.In the meantime, I contacted brand as well, both via phone & email. But to my shock the phone line just repeats the tape- "Please contact service center for any replacement." No response from the WD Brand over mail yet.I'm very much disappointed by the Brand (WD), the Amazon & the Seller (Clicktech Retail).Firstly the brand, no clear line of contact/communication with brand service center. Secondly Amazon, they changed the return/replacement policy of all the electronic items; I don't understand this! If any person is buying the product from Amazon; then Amazon should be responsible for the replacement/return of defective product; not the customer who's being asked to chase both the brand & amazon for the replacement/return of the product. Then comes the seller; providing defective dead items to customers.I'm really skeptical about the issue being either fixed by Brand/Amazon. I've been asked to wait for 2 days whereas the return/replacement window is only for 7 days! I spend 12,399/- on a product which is dead on arrival. Hoping for a better solution from both the Brand & Amazon.This is for all fellow customers to be cautious of this issue! You will have to chase a lot & please read the terms & conditions! Failure to this can lead any of us to loose our money very easily. Yes, its convenient for us to order product while sitting at home; but after the recent policy change; I'll prefer to buy products offline at least the offline shopkeeper will provide you with better solution.Will update the rating if this issue gets resolved in this 7 days time period.

The item came so fast and it works so well with my system. I will recommend the product to others

Aunque el espacio real del disco son como 4.5 Tb sigue siendo muy util y practico, la informacion pasa muy agil entre mi PC y el WD, el conector usb C que viene incluido se siente de calidad tambien, hace un poco de ruido y se calienta un poco cuando pasas mucha informacion pero eso para mi no es problema

Diciamo che in copia parallela di file si rallenta tanto, ma cmq non ho notato problemi nel suo utilizzo.Unica nota é che non si tratta di un 6TB pieno ma sono 5.75TB a causa della formattazione.
