I rely on my microwave way too much. I discovered this as soon as it started malfunctioning. I was just minding my own business when it was like a nuclear apocalypse in there. The microwave was popping and sparking and generally doing all the things that instill fear in a consumer. I was dead in the water from a culinary perspective so I had to take action.So, I called my repair guy. I mean, surely it cannot be too expensive to fix, right? Wrong. The repair guy tells me that the service call alone would be $225. Then once you add labor and parts, it would be a couple hundred dollars more. The microwave itself was less than the service call fee. I couldn’t find a replacement model that fit in the space so I ended up getting a cheap countertop microwave while I pondered my options.I started googling my microwave’s symptoms and the waveguide diagnosis came to light. However, my repair guy scared the crap out of me when he told me several horror stories about microwave repair. This is a very hazardous occupation, guys.I decided to buy this part and try to fix it on my own. When I received it, it was as simple as pulling the old waveguide out and putting a new one in place. No tools. No effort. I FIXED IT.Now everyone in my house thinks I am an accomplished repair person. I didn’t share how easy it was, so I will just bask in this accomplishment for awhile.Bottom line- it’s cheap and it works. And you won’t turn into a character in Final Destination when you put it in place. Totally worth it.

This fit my microwave that is not a Frigidaire, but it's one of the popular featured Amazon microwave, the Toshiba EM925A5A-BS.I couldn't find a replacement for a while but this fit perfectly. The other waveguides I have purchased were too big and it would crack in half when I put slight pressure on it. This one, fortunately, bent just enough to squeeze into the 4 slots. It will not crack or break....so far so good!!

After cleaning the inside of my microwave, I was treated to sparks scaring the life out of me the next time I went to use it. After some web research, I discovered that I most likely had damaged my waveguide cover. I decided for the price, I might as well give it a shot. For under $10 the worse that could happen is it would end up not resolving the problem and I would need a new microwave. I also read the reviews about using a pen to help with the install so as to not damage the waveguide and it worked like a charm and resolved the sparking. Total repair time = less than 2 minutes. Give it a shot before you replace your microwave.

I thought i was going to have to replace my $600 microwave, but fortunately I was advised to try replacing the waveguide first. It worked! Fixed it for $6 vs $600.
