Good kit, works and made phone like new again!
This screen kit worked great to fix wifes shattered Nexus 5x phone. Everything you need is included. I was a bit worried about the quality of the screen from other reviews here, but truthfully, me nor wife can't really tell the difference. The screen brightness seems pretty close, and the color shift that people mention may be there, but it's not noticeable to me or her. The fit of the screen was perfect, there were no fitment issues whatsoever. It looks like a brand new phone, OEM quality when we got it all done. Would buy again for sure (hope we don't have too though). The swap itself took about 1.5hrs being very careful and being this was the first phone I've fixed. Actually, the swap would have taken under an hour if it hadn't been for the extremely glued in battery pack in the original phone. That was actually the hardest part of the whole swap, as the glue holding in the battery on our phone was pretty difficult to get the battery out without damaging it. I ended up removing the whole mother board and everything before trying to pry up the battery. We had to use a couple extra tools to get enough leverage to get the glue to let go at first, as the plastic guitar picks that came with the kit were bending it was glued in so bad. Note: I don't know if all the phones are that bad, we had the phone repaired under warranty due to a manufacturer issue (bootloop problem) about a year ago, so the repair might have used stronger glue than originally came with the phone when they replaced the mainboard... In all, we wasted over 30 minutes trying to carefully get the battery free from the original frame.Several small pieces, but not too bad. Don't forget to swap over the rubber grommet for the proximity sensor, or you may have issues. Also, you might want to make sure the camera lenses don't have finger prints on them before reassembling, as you may touch the lens working on the swap, and once the phone is together, they are behind the plastic/glass, and you can't get to them anymore.Once we got it all together, we tested all the functions that rely on the sensors to make sure it all was working good. We made phone call, speaker phone. Played video. Tested front/rear camera. Tested headphone jack. Tested volume/sleep button. Tested fingerprint reader. All was working good. Wife was so happy to have her phone back in one piece again, as it was broken for some time. It's been about 2 weeks since we did the repair and the screen is still working great so far. If things change, I will update this review.

Screen has a decidedly blue tint, otherwise decent screen/frame combo.
This is an almost perfect replacement for broken screen of a Nexus 5X. Almost. What's to like: the screen is already mounted in the frame, thus no mucking about with heat guns and adhesive to mount the new screen into the old frame. This is tremendously helpful as really all you have to do is swap parts from one to the other. Also, it comes with tools. Most of which aren't needed for the 5X, but the spudger (blue plastic separation tool) and the Phillips screwdriver were handy. And, it already comes with the needed adhesive already stuck into the frame for things like the camera, speaker, etc. All you have to do is remove the protective plastic from those adhesive parts (five by my count). What's not to like: First - the screen is a much cooler color temperature. Now, I don't exactly use my phone to do photoshop or anything, but the screen has a decidedly overall blue tint to it. I would rather have paid more for a screen that didn't have the blue tint so badly. As these are probably factory seconds, I'm going to guess that there is quite a bit of variability in the color shift of the screens, and most likely yours won't be so bad. It's annoying, but I'll get used to it I guess. It's not going to be worth buying another one and replacing it again, and the phone does work well enough. If you've never taken apart a phone before, and yours is broke, you probably don't have anything to lose. Watch a few videos on youtube, or go to a DIY repair website like Ifixit and you should be fine. Still, the video I followed forgot to move the small LED notification unit as well the proximity sensor frame and rubber gasket. I caught the LED unit, but had to take it apart again to fix the proximity sensor because the phone went black every time I made a call - and I couldn't press any numbers or even hang up first with the screen darkened. Even so, the whole job was about 45 minutes. And while I've changed a few screens on other phones in the past, this is the first time I've done a Nexus 5x. Just go slow and take your time, you should be fine.

Make sure you have all the parts.
Easy. Works great. I feel like it's a bit more on the blueish side than the original. Don't forget to take the LED indicator light out of the old one.I've had it a few days now and I'm thinking it's better than the original! It just seems more sharp or something.Update: After a few calls I realized the proximity sensor no longer works. The screen stays black whenever I am on a call. After close inspection and comparison to the pictures in these reviews, I found that my screen does not have a rubber pad thing that the sensor seats into. I either did not come with it or I lost it, either way this blows. I'm going to try a few Jimmy rigs and see if I can get it to work.Update again: Now my LED notification light doesn't work. Granted, I've disassembled my phone about 20 times trying to fix the proximity sensor so who knows if the LED worked in the first place.Bottom line: make sure everything is the same from the new one to the old one, take all the parts over to the new one and test every function right away.
