I don’t usually put a licence plate frame but I did not want to keep the dealers one and it looked very odd without one. This frame does not cover anything but empty real state. Just great!

This thing serves it's purpose and works well (almost too well in fact), but is *extremely* snug on a Virginia plate. I recently ordered vanity plates and had to remove my old license plates from this silicone "sleeve" in order to install the new ones. I will tell you that getting the old plates out was definitely a challenge, so much so that I almost just ordered new plate holders because I didn't think I'd manage to get the license plates back OUT. Finally after much yanking, pulling, and struggling I took the plate (rubber sleeve and all) to the kitchen sink for a last ditch attempt at salvaging my rubber license plate sleeves. I ran as hot of water as I could over the very edges of the back side of the bracket in hopes of softening the rubber material up and making it a little more pliable. Sure enough, I was able to soften up the rubber enough to slip the very edge of the old plate out, and then while using a pair of pliers I grabbed hold of the edge of the license plate with one hand and with the other holding the silicone plate bracket, I pulled the two apart and viola... The plate finally came right out.My advice to you if you ever have to remove your old license plate for any reason: Soak the rubber plate bracket in some hot water to soften up the material in order to get it to let go of the license plate that you have in it. Trust me, it will save you alot of head scratching and frustration from the get-go.

The opening to slide license plate in is not big enough and you must use heavy force to push the license plate totally in, even tapping plate on a hard surface to make it go in. Maybe the instructions should say to grease up your plates first.I still have a 1/16" of plate showing because it would not go in all of the way and I didn't want to tear the rubber.Easy fix, make it bigger. These were brand new plates.

I absolutely hate how dealerships get free advertising from the license plate frames. I was looking for a minimalist frame that would not block my personalized plate that is on order and decided to purchase one of these and try it out before buying another.Imagine my surprise when I got it and it looks and does exactly what it advertises. Even without screwing the plate to my car, my plate is held snugly in place and there are no obstructions of the stickers.Buying a second one. My only regret is that they don't have one for my motorcycle.

This is nicely designed. The backing is sturdy, the horizontal frame is sturdy but the vertical could be stronger. While it's quicker to install compared to the typical wrap around design, it lacks the ability to conceal the sides of the plate. This is due to the vertical frame being flimsy.
