2003 Nissan Maxima SE 3.5lFirst of all was damaged in shipping so had some scuffs on the back side valve cover.Now for the product:Pros:Aluminum so its pretty durableRemovable baffles so you can replace tube seals later onGreat fit no mod required on thatLook great on the car (adds some pizazz to the bay)Cons:Finish had some imperfectionsOil cap didn't fit correctly (stock one worked great also took the seal to put on stock cap)Pcv valve was defective and also didn't fit with the original tube (had incomplete seal)Most of the screws were not tightened completely (added some blue threadlocker and tightend them down)Overall great product for a replacement/upgradeNeeds slightly better packaging in my opinionI have 2 friends that have purchesed these previously for an 02 maxima and a g35Will definitely purchase again if i ever need vq35 replacement valve covers hope to see some actual bolts put in later on.

On the underside of these valve covers are an amazing amount of screws that hold the plastic parts that hold the spark plug tubes seals. A great many of these screws do not actually contact the plastic as if they were not screwed in enough. I try tightening the screws and some turned, and some did not. I find it very hard to believe that all these screws are going to stay attached. I hope that when they fall out they will at least make it to the oil pan and not cause any engine damage.

Covers seem well made overall. One thing that concerns me is that the plastic guards inside them are held on with sheet metal screws. No thread locking compound or any other way to keep them from coming out and falling in the engine. I drilled and tapped them for 10-32 flat head screws that I install with locktite.The other real serious issue is that the right side cover, the one without the filler cap, has extra material that will break your head and again drop the broken material into the engine. You can see in the pictures the area you have to relieve to stop from breaking off the area where the gasket seals.This happened to me on one of our $25,000 race engines. Tightening the screws that hold the cover on and I heard a noise. I removed the cover and found that the aluminum area where the cover seals above the cams broken. The broken piece was eventually found after removing the timing cover and oil pan.A few minutes with a grinder will save you much aggravation and money.

It is completely fits my infiniti I35 VQ35DE.Not like orginal plastic cover, metal covers look really cool.About air leak,it is recommended to play a smoke test when whole installation is done (I forgot to tighten the PCV, which caused the air leak, which was confirmed by a cigar smoking test).About oil leak,After 2 weeks of installation, I re-opened the manifold, checked the valve cover and all the 6 ignition coils and spark plugs, and there's no oil stains.

2004 fx35 vq35de AWD ... I assumed same engine as cars listed here , why not a perfect fit ? was i wrong.a few issues: Wire harness brackets were too tall, didn't realize until it protruded my lower plenum and broke it.Oil fill cap will not come out due to placement under the plenum , cannot use stock plenum unless u fabricate and oil fill cap/tube.PROS: ALL gaskets seem replaceable including spark plug gaskets (good for the long run, no new covers just gaskets)DO NOT try this on any other car except what's listed UNLESS you plan on shaving down brackets/mounting points and fabricating and oil fill tube for use with stock plenum.

I recommend this aluminum valve cover it fits perfectly and I solved my oil cumsumcio problem 🤙

Really nice kit. Has everything you need. Paint is durable and holds up well. Hardware is a plus.
