Lost Drag Strips II picks up where Lost Drag Strips left off.Author Scotty Gosson takes readers to tracks that are mostly defunct and long gone.It is actually a shame that there even has to be books like these but they are vital in schooling people to what happened to these drag strips. Gosson shows strips many people probably did not know existed along with the more famous ones like Fremont and Fontana Drag City. The photographs are excellent and Tommy Ivo's commentary is a must read. All in all the book educates as well as saddens when reading about how many drag strips have closed and the reasons the closed.Sadly there are more drag strips that are gone that could probably fill a third edition. However, it would also be a good read to see more of the close-call survivors such as South Mountain Dragway in Volume II. I know one close to home and my heart that almost joined the list of closed drag strips. That is Island Dragway in New Jersey. It is where Don Garlits officially broke 200 mph in 1964. In early 2013 the strip closed and many ,including myself, thought it was lost forever..Thankfully, the track was reopened by the granddaughter of the original owner and is going strong again. It's just too bad many of the strips in both volumes couldn't be so fortunate. We as racers, fans, and sponsors need to support our race tracks and stand up to the powers that be that want to close them.

this edition is superior to the first book titled Lost Drag Strips
In my opinion, this edition is superior to the first book titled Lost Drag Strips. The photography in it is excellent.

A little less lost
Considering there was alot less material to work with when compared to the first, it was still a excellent collection of our racing past. Thanks
