Recess Lights
Very good lights, the spring tension on the clips are excellent and I liked the way how they fitted tight on the ceiling.

Highly versatile, good looking, bright lights
This is my third purchase of Torchstar recessed lights. I chose them because of how well they install when floor or ceiling joists get in the way of other options. For these, I needed to mount lights in a kitchen, and the center of the ceiling has a floor joist running right where I intended to put lights. At 1/2" thick, these are able to go beneath the joist, yet attach to the drywall on both sides of the joist. Wiring is also simple, given the push-to-connect fasteners in a lightweight junction box.My first two purchases of torchstar were of the very similar bronze framed lights in 4000k; one pack in 6" and one in 4". These 6" lights are 2700k and noticeably yellower. When choosing which light to get, consider the setting and which type of light will best suit your use. Personally, i prefer yellow light in living spaces because it gives me a warmer feeling and I like the way furniture and floors and walls look under 2700k as compared to a bluer/whiter light. While whiter light is easier to read under, yellow LED lights are still brighter than their incandescent counterparts and I don't see the yellowish light as an issue for my pre-40 year old eyes. Another difference is that they are slightly smaller diameter than the bronze lights and have a smaller width frame. I guess they're altogether different models, but it wasn't really clear before ordering. All n all, I'm satisfied with my purchases. The only downside in my opinion with this sort of light is the fear that if the led bulb goes bad, I need to replace the whole fixture. The upside is that they're relatively inexpensive to do so.If you already have a hole in your ceiling from a previous recessed light, consider the diameter hole that these require before purchasing. If dealing with an existing can light, you might consider the other LED options out there that will replace the bulb and trim while leaving the old cans intact. For new construction or cutting a new hole in an old ceiling, these are ideal as long as you can run cable/conduit through your ceiling without obstructions. Highly recommend.

The lights and the customer service are both fantastic
First, the lights themselves are nothing like the old can lights. I bought the 4", they are about the size of a large coaster. Each light is paired with a junction box (this is where you'll wire them up to power), and once wired up, a dongle on the junction box connects securely to a matching one on the light. You will need a hole cutter, the one I used attaches to a drill. I measured, marked the center of each, cut the hole and had everything up and running in about an hour. Note that I had done the wiring prior to that, it took about an hour or so to cut romex to length, strip, and connect the junction boxes in series. The lights snap in with springs, and they hold tight. Note that once the lights are in the ceiling, you'd have a tough time getting them out without going from above. My lights are "warm white" - 3000k, which is perfect for my home office. A little whiter than your typical incandescent bulb. I find it perfect to work under all day. Also love that they work with a dimmer switch.A little over a year after I purchased them, one of the lights went out. I sent a message to Torchstar, they responded immediately and suggested I try swapping to a different junction box as a test - and sure enough, it was the junction box that stopped working. They sent me a new one, got it in a couple days and the light is working once again.Highly recommend the product and the seller, Torchstar. 100% pleased!

Love these lights! Installed them all over my house
When my son left to go to college, I took over his bedroom to make it a music room (I play guitar). I installed the 4" Warm White Torchstar lights as recessed lights and put them on a new dimmer and I fell in love. The lighting as excellent. I loved them so much, I installed them in the master bedroom, den, and the 6" version in my kitchen and living room. They are easy to install; you can even install them under a ceiling stud! They are very energy efficient. For example, I replaced 5 incandescent 60 watt light bulbs (300 watt total) in my ceiling fan with ten 4" Torchstar recessed lights (10 watts each), so the total is only 100 watts.Lastly, and most importantly, I love the lighting. It makes me feel like I'm in a new house. We have cathedral ceilings in some of the rooms and the lighting spreads out evenly so you can see so much more than with ceiling fan lights or traditional canned spot lights.Give these lights a try. If you are nervous, try installing them in a closet or garage first. Once you learn how great this product is, you will want them everywhere in your home. One more thing, if you are planning on connecting them to a dimmer, that's not a problem but make sure the dimmer is compatible with the lights. Torchstar provides a list of compatible dimmers, so you will be fine. Just in case you're curious, when I first installed the lights in my living room, I connected them to my old 10-year-old dimmer and it was bad; the lights flickered and the dimming range was tiny, Once I installed a compatible dimmer it worked great. I used the Lutron Maestro C.L Dimmer switch, It is a little expensive, but it works great!!

Are very good.
I really liked these lights, are like daylight. Just be sure that you get enough lights on base of the space that you are going to illuminate.

Worth it
Been a year since I installed it. It has held up great. Simple install for anyone who is amateur in electrical work. I highly recommend to switch your bulky, hot and energy consuming lights for this.
