SHIMANO - Bottom Bracket BSA 122.5/68mm-BB-UN300 Square Taper (LL123)

I had mechanic fit bottom bracket, cost me £50 and the crank came loose, whilst cycling. Amazon AI told me which bottom bracket would work, and it seems excellent fit. And I got the tool to fit it also, for around £24 total, so good deal. Working perfect.

This bottom bracket is for my e bike which I use pedal assist on extensively. As it's a legal 250W motor I have to put in a bit of personal oomph, especially on hills so the mechanics of the bike are very important. The bracket on the bike in comparison (Chinese bike) was a loud mess although it's rotation was adequate and would have lasted longer, however eyeing the corrosion evident on it, decided to replace the bracket and I'm so glad I did. The Shimano one is silent and very smooth with excellent build quality. I've been gradually replacing the original parts on the bike with more upmarket replacements as time goes on and it'll last for many years as a result. This bottom bracket is very good value for money and raises the bar quite a bit compared to the lousy original part. It didn't last for many years as hoped, just a little under two years. Bearings corroded on chainring side. Disintegrated with complete collapse on one side. Having said that, I've replaced with this item again. It did run well up until the failure point, it's reasonable price for two years of constant use won't break the bank.

Poor quality … worn out after 500 miles of leisure cycling by a lightweight older cyclist exclusively in dry weather. Clicking when climbing hills for the last 100+ miles, re-installation not helped and revealed play in the spindle/bearing. Seems no longer able to rely on Shimano brand for durability. This bottom bracket has performed worse than the unbranded ones that bikes used to come with when new. 1 star for first few hundred miles. Subjective, but think even those didn't feel as smooth as an old Shimano BB used to when new.

The cartridge arrived within a week with free shipping which I was impressed with, but the crank arm bolts were not provided with the BB cartridge.

The previous one lasted about 6 months with minimum usage and the last one less than 3 months with modest usage. Never buy from this seller again :(

フロントチェーンホイールを交換するにあたって対応するこちらのボトムブラケットを購入。 ちなみにSHIMANOのフロントチェーンホイール(MTB) FC-M311 ブラック 48-38-28T 170mm ガード付きで利用。 初めて交換するに当たり、長さの違いなどよくわかっていませんでしたが特に不満もなく取り付け完了。 本来なら先に利用中のBBを取り出し長さを調べて購入を検討するほうが良いかも。 以前取り付けてあったBBは長さを比べると少し短めでしたが走行など特に問題ないように思えます。 スムーズな走り出しで以前より快適度があるので交換成功ということで。 本体の内側には少しグリスがありましたが取り付けの際に別途グリスが有ったほうが良いかなとは思います。
