The book came in a stellar condition. It was wrapped securely and and there is not a single fold. My friend has been eyeing this book for a while and I got it for her birthday 😁

Kalynn's way of writing is truly unique and addictive. After a tough school academic year I started reading her books so much that I buy them as soon as I finish one.It has come to a point that me ,a phone addicted person, doesnt give attention to my phone at all!

Brilliant Retelling!!
"The palace underestimates the resourcefulness of women forced into a dark and dangerous place."This is retelling of the classic Cindrella story with a darker version and showing us that not all that seems good is to be accepted for what it is and to not believe in centuries old tales.Sophia is a headstrong woman who doesn't want to be saved by someone in shining armour but want to be the one to do saving. She is brave and ready to be the one to bring about a change. She wants to free Mersailles from the cruel rules of the king. I adored her character the way she did not want to accept the idiotic things and was ready to voice her opinion, question them even though it was under her breath.Sophia and Constance had a beautiful relationship though the romance felt a bit rushed to me. I wanted more of the world building and some depth as to why the nature of the characters is so or their actions. I wanted to see what becomes of Mersailles in the woman's power. This would have taken the book to another level.Through this retelling Kalynn Bayron talks about the different forms of abuse, to stand for what is right and be ready to bring the change. With the theme of LGBTQ and a darker version retelling, I have respect for the author to rebuild it in an amazing and brilliant way. This book definitely gives feminist vibes, with the lead being a strong black kickass female and if you are up for it go ahead and read this. I loved the cover and I enjoyed the book overall. Definitely waiting for This Poison Heart.

All in for a feminist Cinderella retelling!
Not to discompose my sexist scholars, but fairy tales that we grow up reading and listening to have always been about turning women against women.Cinderella? Check.Snow White? Check.Sleeping Beauty? Check.Rapunzel? Check. The good queen, the bad queen, the helpless king, the damsel in distress, and oh! The knight in shining armour. Don't you ever grow tired of it? I know I didn't! Lol.In this spellbinding retelling of "Cinderella", everything is topsy-turvy. A rusty spoon galvanized in the colours of a rainbow that the dark clouds strive to engulf into oblivion. Terrified and downhearted, the women of Lille are treated like fodder, traded like cattle. Good men are silent, bad men are king. And Cinderella? Dead for 200 years. It's not her story but of Sophia's. Cinderella is but a ghost that lurks over the destiny of Lille's women like a shroud. The story of the flaming sword has been manipulated to leave a spine-chilling legacy. There is no dearth of treachery, cowardice, friendship, or love, for Sophia in her quest for pride and equality. I liked how each of the characters held their own. Remember when you chewed on that elaichi in your biriyani and immediately wanted to kick off a murdering spree for the next one decade? Yeah, that's King Manford, a.k.a. our bad guy. My love, he'll make your blood boil in all shades of elaichi. This was one of the very few novels at this point which was able to completely blindside me as to the intentions of a beloved character. And I do mean BELOVED! Oh God. I mean, I know it is supposed to feel personal, but GOD was the author cruel!!Such a mindblowing 5-star read, I'm enthralled. Cinderella, her stepmother, her stepsisters, her prince charming... be prepared to leave all your "but this is a fairy tale" excuses at the doorstep before you pick this one up. I mean, you probably shouldn't be reading this if you feel like that anyway! This story is about defiance, about setting the dark on fire. Not your usual "Yes, My King" stuff.

Excellent Cover, Torn Pages
The delivery was excellent. The cover of the book is in perfect condition, but a few pages are torn at the end :( I’m sad about it. Otherwise, it’s excellent!!

Absolutely loved this one ❤️
This is an amazing book with an excellent plot. The plot twists are brilliant. It's stellar.A great retelling where Cinderella tale is just a fable. In this story, Sophia doesn't need to be protected by a knight in shining armor, she herself is ready to turn into one.

Good
I mean if you read about love, horror and adventure together then this ook is good for you but in the end it's kind of boring 🐱

I loved it
A fantastic retelling of a classic where "finding your prince" isn't a prize.

Me surpreendi real com o peso.
