Excellent for Beginner Modern Calligraphy/Brush Lettering!
The media could not be loaded. I’m a beginner to Modern Calligraphy and have been doing a lot of research on brush pens that are all around great pens, but especially easier for beginners to start off with and these are some I’ve seen recommended over and over. These Pentel Sign Pen Brush (Flexible Point) pens are GREAT pens! Give nice thin upstrokes and distinct thicker downstrokes, the colors are nice and bold and the ink flows well.Another pen I’ve seen recommended frequently are the Tombow Fudenosuke Colors that just came out. I purchased them at the same time as these Pentels and did a little side-by-side comparison swatch today, so I’ll attach that in case you are also looking at the two kinds. If you are at all familiar with the Tombow Fudenosukes, they typically come in a pack of 2 black pens, 1 hard tip and 1 soft tip - these Pentels are similar to the soft tip Fudenosuke. So, soft, but still a “small” brush pen that is a bit easier for beginners to control. Hope my review is helpful to some!

Perfect for beginners!
I am learning to hand letters and these pens are perfect for that. They are easy to hold and write very smoothly for learning to hand letter, which is great because you need to hold them a lot for learning! I'm excited about my hand lettering journey and these pens are most definitely playing a critical part!

Versitile
The case is worthless. It's not only huge, it's a massive pain to slide the tray of pens out and find a way to force them back in. If you just want the standing tray, then there's no issue aside from how much space it takes up. Press the sides closed and it stands just fine. If you want them to be portable, I suggest a pencil case. The pens all came ready to go, nothing dried out. I've been hearing a lot about pens arriving dried out from multiple companies over the last few months, and these are not giving me that problem. I'm hoping whatever was going on is solved. I can only say for certain that these are fine. They're good for letting and for drawing. It's not that hard to keep a fine line with them for things like drawing. The counterpoint is that you need to add a smidge more pressure on the downstroke for thick lines, but I don't mind that. That simplicity of getting fine control makes things like crosshatching or other shading techniques easy.I've used this kind of pen for a long time and they're always in my purse for playing in my bujo whereever I find the need and time. I love the versitility.

These are my favorite out of my huge collection of calligraphy pens/markers!
These are great. Out of my large and obscene few hundred dollar calligraphy pen collection, I use these the most. These are my favorite. They are so smooth and easy to write with (and easy to learn with for beginners) and the colors are super vibrant. I ended up buying 12 packs of each individual colors because I use them so much, but this set is great, especially for beginners. The tips hold up pretty well and I like the thickness of what they write. They're finer than my Tombow sets, but they still have a nice depth perception. I have a ton of lyrics and quotes on my instagam in my "calligraphy" highlights and 90% of them were done with these pens if you want a better idea of how they write and how vibrant the colors are. I'm certainly not a pro, I'm just a beginner...but I absolutely love these the best. My Instagram is @TheRinster.

Great thin brush pen, but seems like I got 3 varieties
Great and easy to use for beginners. Doesn't smear and writes nicely just for every day use too. Colors are vibrant and will be purchasing again once ink runs out. The pack that I purchase seemed like it was made up of different batches though because the writing/label on the pen is different, with three variations (see pic for reference)

Great Colors!
These colors came out exactly as expected and I love using them. They write great and this particular set is a great addition to my collection.

Pentel for the win
Everyone and their sister is doing the brush lettering and bullet journaling thing these days. But the most popular pen set is the Tombow Fudenosuke. They are about ten dollars more than these. It's unfortunate that one product gets taken up by the influencers and pushed as the "must have" pen, but there need to be alternatives and I don't believe any beginner should run out dump money on products especially when you don't know a thing. Lots of learning and some affordable basics should be enough. You do not need to buy a full set of pens to learn lettering. That comes later. That's my opinion and it always will be.But when it comes to the point where one has been practicing and is ready for a set of brush pens, the biggest names in brush lettering agree that the Tombow "Fudes" are not the only small brush pen (there are small and large Tombow Duo Tip--learn on a small!) that stand on top. There are thankfully tons of great videos showing the side by side of these Pentel and Tombow Fudes. And I'm saying with confidence that although they perform nearly the same, I like these better. For me they are the superior. They are jucier and an overall better pen. These things are always in large part preference but you can't go wrong as a beginner. I believe it's fair to say at this point that Pentel has earned a top spot alongside Tombow with many preferring Pentel. The only thing to watch for is that you don't accidentally buy the felt tip since the packages are nearly identical. Make sure you look for Sign BRUSH, very important and look closely to see that the barrels are glittery. Then you know you have the right pen. There's absolutely no reason to pay ten extra dollars for the other set. I say that as a person who started with the two pack of Tombow Fudenosuke black pens in hard and soft nibs just to learn. I also practiced with the large Tombow pen once I got comfortable. I love these Pentel and have some large Tombow for bigger projects being that they are so much larger, but when it comes to brush lettering in colors, I use these. Pentel makes a great brush pen and they surpass Fudes in my opinion for a good chunk less! I am a person who thinks very carefully and researches things thoroughly before choosing, almost to a fault, and I'm happy that I did that and didn't follow the crowd. The black Tombow did the job while I was learning, but this set was the right purchase. Juicier indeed and very comfortable to use. I also use them in my mixed media art. Be a smart consumer and be cautious when getting into something new. Look carefully at all your options and above all else do some learning about the area you want to pursue so you have the info you need to make a good choice and spend wisely.

Bonne précision / couleur intense
Suffisamment fin pour avoir une bonne précision, les couleurs sont intenses, aquarellables mais s'utilisent bien sur du papier à croquis. Je veux acheter l'ensemble de 12.

Good small brush pens, vibrant, flow, couple of issues
I’m relatively new to brush lettering. I started to get interested in the hobby while working from home during the pandemic. I practiced calligraphy as a child but the mess of fountain pens and the strict rules forced me to lose interest. I like the fact that brush lettering is more relaxed and modern brush pens are easy to use/maintain. My goal became to simply to be able to personalize cards with beautiful pensmanship. Being that my goal is to write relatively small started with a tombow fudenosuke hard/soft/twin set. I quickly found that I needed some colours to make practice less mundane and decided to order this set as they seemed to be well regarded amongst lettering enthusiasts. The Pentel Touch brush pens are perfectly suited to my goals, they are small yet flexible enoughto provide nice pressure variation. I find the stiffness to be somewhere between that of the tombow hard and tombow soft. The colours are vibrant and this kit provides a nice variety of colours. My only 2 issues with the set I received are 1) the green marker was leaking upon arrival (not a big deal as it has not leaked since cleaning it with a tissue) 2) the labelling on my pens vary (see the picture, some say “Brush Sign Pen” while others say “touch”, this made me question their authenticity but all other indications imply that this is acceptable).Other that these issues these pens are perfect for me. I feel that they could be priced a bit cheaper but it is what it is. I looked at the 6 pen set, but the colours are very basic, I like the additions to this set. I also considered the tombow fudenosuke color set but I could only find them with hard tips and I like the way the Pentel brush pens write better (better thick lines and better colour flow).Overall I’m happy with this set.

Excelentes brush pens!
