Oggi Microwavable Insulated Serving Bowl-1 Quart, White

I got this specifically for appetizer type food when going to someone else's house so it would stay warm and it does. Dips, filling for wraps etc. stay warm and the lid does lock on. It's light weight and I would recommend it. I have not tried using it in the microwave. I just put the hot food after I cook it into the dish and transport.

Needed to keep meals warm until the rest of the meal is ready. Also, to transport warm water. Seems to be perfect for one meal serving and lid screws on easily. Kept water warm for about 30-40 mins. inside. Yet to try food. The only set back with this cute dish is that it does not seal in liquids. Making it harder to transport soup, water, condensation.

I really love the design, and quality feeling of this microwaveable bowl with lid. It CAN be microwaved, but the manufacturer's recommendations say it can ONLY be microwaved for 5 minutes max, and if you need more time, you must wait 15 minutes before microwaving it again. Also, you CANNOT microwave with the top on, even loosely. These two limitations mean that it cannot really be used to cook in the microwave. I tried to reheat ham and bean soup (filled about 2/3), but 5 minutes was not nearly enough time. In a different container, the soup heated up quickly. It seems that the bowl itself absorbs much of the microwave energy, so the fact you can microwave food in it is almost useless. This bowl is fantastic for serving hot food, as the insulated wall and snug fitting insulated lid keep the food hot for quite awhile. I imagine it would do that even better if it was "preheated" with hot water before the hot food was put inside. The bowl and lid wash up easily. They look good on the dinner table, and have two nice handles on the sides, making it easy to pass. This container would also be very helpful if you need to serve a meal to someone sick in bed.

It does NOT retain hot or cold temperature at all. I should have tested it while it was still returnable.

I used this to keep cheese quest dip warm and it did a good job. It is easy to clean.
