Calm Me Down - Calming Collars for Dog Anxiety

It seemed to work very well the first time Bo wore it. He calmed down and actually laid down and took a nap even though it was still thundering. The second time he wore it, he relaxed enough to take off and jump in the pool before I could catch him. You can not allow the collar to get wet. It will not dry out completely and will mold no matter how long it hangs in the sun and lays on the counter to dry.UPDATE: After leaving my review earlier, I was contacted by the seller regarding my Pup's going swimming with his collar on. I knew the collar shouldn't get wet but sometimes, the Big Guy is faster than I am when he decides to go swimming! After exchanging emails and discussing the collar's effect on Bobo, I was pleasantly surprised to find a new collar in my mailbox this week. We have had 2 days of thunderstorms now and Bo has made it through both in a relaxed state on his rug snoozing. The Calming Collar is definitely worth trying. It had been recommended by several people whose dogs were not helped by the shirts that are available.So, If your dog experiences anxieties during storms or car trips or just life in general...I highly recommend trying this collar, especially from this seller. It even smells good to me!1 YEAR UPDATE - May 22, 2017: It has been almost a year since we bought this collar for Bo and it's still working as well today as it did when we first got it. I've kept it in a plastic storage container when not in use so the fragrance has not been reduced by time at all. Last night's storm dumped 2" rain in an hour and a half. Bo hardly noticed it. It is thundering again now and he's stretched out on his rug chillin'! I bought this collar with great trepidation. I did not believe it could work this well. Now, I can't imagine getting through the summer without it. He doesn't hyperventilate any more and just cruises through the storms. I can't recommend this product enough for your dog.

Calming Collar just arrived, so cute and well made; with a lovely relaxing lavender scent. Only problem, I made a sizing mistake and ordered the XS Pirate pattern; instead of the SMALL Black Paws Pattern. So much for my late night ordering. I wrote the manufacturer to request a return authorization and exchange for size and design change due to MY ordering error. Within minutes Calming Collars responded, and offered to send me the replacement calming collar in small, no questions asked; & no need for me to return the too small unused collar. Their suggestion, I donate my unused XS collar to a shelter as they do not re-use even unused products. Talk about customer support! Even more impressive is their apparent hygiene concern for our little furry friends! I’ve only had this three days. I may change the review later depending on how long this lasts. I recently adopted a rescue Pomeranian that was dumped at a shelter by a back yard breeder. He doesn’t have all the issues of a puppy mill rescue, but he’s still a little shy. He was getting separation anxiety when I left for work and would bark anxiously as I left. I live in an apartment, so this wasn’t good. I put them s collar on him before I leave and he doesn’t bark. It is serving its purpose so far.It seemed to stop working after a week, but then I read about crushing it a little to renew the scent. That worked. I read that this collar lasts 3-4 months if it's on the dog 24-7 and up to a year if you put it in the bag when not using. If that is the case, it's worth every penny. I'll update this review as I go, but I also recommend reading blogs about dealing with separation anxiety (like don't interact with your dog or make a big deal for 15 minutes before you leave and wait 15 minutes to interact with your dog when you get home, establish a routine, etc) this collar can be helpful while working on the issue.

This arrived quickly and nicely packed with tissue. IDK, that just makes me feel better about spending money on the product, so thanks for that touch. But most important, this is working really well with my nervous dog. It seemed to bliss her out immediately. She habitually chews on her legs and feet, and since the vet has ruled out physical causes, he believes it to be psychological. I'm hoping this will ease her anxiety.About the sizing, my dog has a 17-inch neck, and the medium was a little small. I was able to adjust it to fit, but just to let you know, it goes pretty much the full length of the collar. Still fits just fine.For those who say it doesn't work, it may not work for YOUR dog, but it may for others. For instance, my dog's thunder shirt works well for her, but most other calming cures I've tried don't. I'm also putting her on a homemade diet. Fingers crossed.

Amazing product ! !!! This collar works perfectly for my dog. I put it on him when storms are approaching and he dozes through even the loudest thunder and lightening. I have used it 4 times now and get the same result each time. I have never had a product live up to its claims so completely . It is well made. I highly recommend this product!!!!!

I was really hoping this would help with my dogs fear of storms since so many reviews said how great it was for their dogs with thunder and fireworks. No such luck. I still wake in the middle of the night to her climbing all over me and trying to bury her head under my neck when it storms.The collar seems to be well made and the design is nice. It's easy to adjust to fit your dog. Maybe you will have more luck than I did.

This collar is magical! The herbs smell amazing and within 20 minutes or so my hyper boxer girl lays down and relaxes until I take it off. It doesn't knock her out to the point of altering her personality but it helps enough for me to get chores done without her running, jumping and crying. I hope this lasts awhile and I'll be buying again when it needs replaced. Very pleased. Oh and it looks adorable on her and is very padded for her comfort. I measured her neck and bought the next size up, perfect fit!
