The media could not be loaded.  I bought this from seller Noevsbig (fulfilled by Amazon) for around £38, as I was looking for a good pair of Helping Hands for soldering that was cheaper than the bright yellow one from an American brand. This is both cheaper and has more arms (plus six other magnetic holders that can be used to hold up a circuit board), and arrived the day after I ordered it. I was a little hesitant at first due to no UK reviews but it is a quality product. Magnets in the arms are strong and the base is weighty. The arms stay firmly in place when positioned. The only criticism I can find is that the locking of rotation of the alligator clips can be a bit fiddly, but regardless it still works well. Please see my video review for full impressions, but overall I would highly recommend this! Great value for money and quality, and more included compared to the more expensive yellow American alternative. (Nb it also says in the packet it has a lifetime guarantee, so I hope it holds up!)

I've had this for a week and have used it each day, mostly for soldering.Build quality is very high; the weighty iron base keeps everything in place and the arms and supports include incredibly powerful magnets. Everything is very well made and there is a spare crocodile clip in case you should somehow break one.It's not the cheapest helping hand but it is well worth the outlay. Highly recommended.

Hard to believe I've got to the age I am without one of these. Transformative for fiddly soldering jobs. The substantial weight is a boon in this application. Minor quibble; one of the 5 croc clip jaws has remained slightly loose in its holder - doesn't stop it working, but it knocks a star off. The board posts seem like a great idea - have to say they haven't been pressed to use yet, but I can foresee a time they might be.

It has a solid weight and feel. The flexible arms are way better than I was presuming. I highly recommend it to all who need a "helping hand." The magnets are strong and stay in place just how you want it.

Great, strong magnets, good flexible arms. The difference between having it or not is like the difference between night & day. Really good if you work with fragile wires.

I was looking for a tool like this since many years !Don't hesitate to buy it, it will simplify your DIY lifeand really helps you to make PCB assemblies orother stuffs.

The bottom plate and moving arms are great but the build quality of the clips is bellow par. One was already broken. And 2 others the plastic cover badly installed leading to not a great user experience. I use it for electrical work. And hobby building.

You have 3 features to be rated.......warmth?.....the first choice. At least the other two made sense, Thickness and Sturdiness, which seem to be excellent so far. As for warmth, well, I have to give it a fail there. Of course with springtime here that may improve a couple of degrees but I'm not buying a digital thermal laser thermometer just to find out. Since there was no place for connecting an electrical cord I have to assume the unit is somehow solar powered? Anyway, besides failing to provide any warmth, I'd have to say I love the other cold features....like doing what ya actually advertise........That is much appreciated!

The arms don't really stay in place, the clips are laughably thin and fragile, the magnetic board holders have almost no magnetic force to keep from moving. I regret this purchase.

It’s nice but the soft feet are not stuck on very well and one has completely fallen off

Great for holding several things in place. I used it for holding thermometers in place for anodizing that requires several thermometers in different containers to monitor temperatures.

Third hand clips were hard to adjust and not solid when tightened, and the magnifier glass seem to have poor optic quality.
