They work for sound absorption and look great!
These are for sound absorption not sound-proofing. The entire Industry uses these terms interchangeably as though they mean the same thing. They do not! Sound-proofing will cost you thousands of dollars and you will have to tear apart your walls and ceiling... An acoustic pro should do it. If you live in an Apartment complex-No way. They are effective at absorbing sound, with a tested NRC of .95 they are close to the best for easy sound absorping tasks and installation. In the USA apartment complexz are painted an off white, sickly looking color. I completely covered my room in these and they look great. They are a crytalline white(I dont know why someone wrote blue-if that color is blue then it is better than white!) and have texture to them. I would do the whole apartment but it is not necessary. I used 136 for a large room but I placed them exactly like I tiled the entire place completely with no spaces. The other thing is the nano-tape stickers are the best. I tried the black 3M stickers(dont do it) and other tapes, nano-tape and strong 3M VHB tape and Wotec(Wotec is the better than all except the stickers supplied or sold by Bubos). The reasons are 1-The other tapes(except Wotec) will take forever and drive you nuts trying to remove the plastic and then they will be stuck to your fingers like glue or the Black 3m stickers will come apart easy but have fallen off my ceilin. The Bubos stickers come apart easy and they are as powerful as the nano-tapes and the 3m tape. They are also very thin but cut in large squares. They work well. Finally the customer service is great and if you do not get what you want you will get a refund, at 1st I wanted a refund because I thought sound proofing and sound absorbing are the same thing. They immediatel went to refund me but then I read about it further and realized they would be the best for me and they even sent me a new pack with stickers. 1st, even if you dont buy these(I would choose them over all the others I have checked out) make sure you know the difference between sound proofing and sound absorbing. There are no sound proofing panels-you need Mass loaded vinyl and it goes behind the wall not on top of it and it will cost you gourds of mine and lots of work time to do it

Worked Great in specific areas.
I put these in the corner of my recording studio and along the roof line. I angled them so they have about a 3 inch air gap. I put them up with alien tape, and recommend doing this if you are renting. Some I put up with a spray glue, because this is my studio, and I am not renting. I angled them across the corners from ceiling to about halfway down the wall. I put a Youtube video up about it call Podcast Studio with Bubos Panels at The Happiness Factory channel. Which is my channel. I wouldn't mind completing the corners to the floor with these. I put them on the ceiling line at an angle in the same fashion, crossing the plane where the ceiling meets the wall so there was an air gap behind the panels on three walls. This was a very effective treatment, and I used the studio the next day for a guest interview, and I have to say this treatment made a very significant impact on the quality of my audio. The Bubos panels look good too, They are really trapping bass, and shut down the reverb frequency in this room. I think If I get about 24 more of these, I could treat the ceiling over the recording table, or finish trapping the corners to the floor. One of the other, and that would probably do my recording studio to completion. I podcast, and work with other sound arts, I dabble in music. And I moved into this house with a room that was perfect for my recording studio, and Bubos was the first panels I tried, and I have a fairly dry room now. Of corse I have to turn the HVAC down so it doesn't kick on and destroy the sound quality of this room. But its a fairly dry room. I'm very pleased with the outcome. I only used two packs. I can have it completely done with another two or three packs. That would be a room that I would call done. They worked very very good when I discovered to give them 3 inch air gap in the corner. I'm happy. And Happiness Matters.

Works pretty well but do not expect a miracle reduction in sound levels
They hold up on the ceiling pretty well when used with the 3M black double sided tape.Make sure you have a box cutter and a 1/2" piece of ply wood to cut on as they will not always line up properly and the edges may need to be trimmed. At first I though that they were not all manufactured exactly to the same size but it ended up being slight curves in the house walls that throw off some off the row alignment lines by 3/8" here and there. The sound dampening works to a satisfactory level, not as good as real thick acoustic foam but it's a good trade off on the looks versus the performance.A couple of suggestions:Wash you hands often when dealing with these tiles. They are almost like white cloth and they will pickup and get stained by any dirt that is on your hands.Keep a white rag and some alcohol nearby. This can clean off most of the marks that may get on the tiles.Really push and hold them in place for like 15 seconds each. The first few I put up dropped off 24 hours later because I did not push them on hard enough and did not wait long enough for the double sided tape to set.I have mine on my solar electrical room ceiling. I needed to dampen out some of the sound of various inverter fans running and also keep some of the daytime heat out. It works ok for those two problems. I noticed a 3 deg-F drop in temp during the day and the sound is about 30% less. Bonus was that it made the room look pretty high tech.

Results of reducing loud vehicles in bedroom
ProblemWhen I first moved into my townhome 10 years ago, it was pretty much at the edge of town and there was hardly any traffic on the street beside my place.About 3 years ago, traffic was picking up to the point where I added 1/4 inch acrylic storm windows over the large bedroom window in order to quiet things down, which helped significantly at the time.Due to town growth, I am no longer at the edge of town, but now completely surrounded by homes and condos. Not only has traffic increased significantly, but there are now plenty of loud sports cars, loud pickup trucks and Harley's driving by at all hours of the night. The walls in my townhome clearly weren't built for loud traffic and some of the loudest vehicles would measure above 90 db of sound inside my bedroom.SolutionFrom the various articles I read on sound dampening, I purchased the Bubos Sound Absorbing panels. I began with 2 x 24 packs, to see if it would help. 17 bundles later, I have finally gotten the sound down to the point where I can sleep through the night again. I had to put 2 layers on the 2 outside walls that face the traffic, as 1 layer was not good enough. And 1 layer on the outside wall that faces away from the traffic, in order to absorb any reflected sound. I would still get peaks of 90 db and averages of 70 db for loud vehicles, when I only had 1 layer on the 2 walls that face the traffic. Now the largest peak is 74 db, with typical room noise around 40 db.I also added the Nicetown curtains with felt liner to help with the sound dampening. Some concerns* The tiles are described as 12 inch x 12 inch, however they are really 11 7/8 inches. The description should more accurately describe the dimensions so that people can plan accordingly.* The white tiles actually have a slight hue of mint green.* The color isn't consistent from batch to batch, so it isn't hard to see the color variations on the wall. Fortunately they are in my bedroom, where the lighting isn't bright, so not as easily noticed. It would be nice if Bubos would also have a version of the tile that is about 1 inch thick, so that it wouldn't be necessary to put 2 layers on a wall when needed.Acoustically, I am satisfied with the end result overall and I can now sleep through the night without being woken up by the loud vehicles driving by. Part of me wonders if I should have removed the drywall and redone the walls with sound isolating techniques.
