Let me start by saying that I own 3 pairs of these shoes which I purchased previously, when Gentle Souls was a stand alone company. They have been wonderful, and are possibly the most comfortable shoes I own, PLUS they have an adorable vintage yet contemporary style which I totally love. So good for a rockabilly look!This is the first pair I've purchased since Gentle Souls got bought by Kenneth Cole, and what an epic let down! It appears that they have changed the design of these shoes. What used to be an ultra comfy heel cup, lined with super soft leather that was kind to your feet, has now got an added, padded protrusion at the top edge, which does nothing except rub against the back of your Achillies tendon (and heel) and give you a huge blister. Horrible design! Why would you kill your classic shoe design? Please, for the love of all things good and pure, go back to the old simple heel cup way!I also want to mention that the pair I purchased was the Graphite color, and there was some trouble with that as well- the shiny color appears to be some sort of paint which is on the surface of the nubuck, and where it meets any edge of the shoe, the coating is actually crisp and sharp, like a blade. The other problem is that it is not applied in a balanced way- the pair I received had big splotches of it on one side of the shoes, and none on the other side. If it had looked intentional, it could have been sweet; but it didn't. It looked like the color had worn off the vamp and toe of one side of the shoes. All in all, in the past, these shoes have been my favorites- I couldn't give them enough stars; but now, my heart is broken and I have to say they are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Negative stars--------Go back to the original design of the se shoes, Kenneth Cole! And please bring back the fun DYED leather colors!

These are probably the most expensive dress shoes I've ever purchased, BUT you get what you pay for. These feel so comfy on the feet! There is just enough cushioning in these so that your feet don't hurt. I included a photo of the inside of the box lid which desribes the layers of cushioning. They have decent traction. But the best part is how cute they are, zero compromise in comfort and no pain for those who suffer from bunions. They cover just enough of the front foot area where the edges do not dig into my bunion. In fact, none of the edges dig into my feet at all which means no irritation on the skin at the end of the day. Pardon my ugly swollen feet, it was at the end of the day when I took these pics but you can see how they cover my bunion properly. The leather lining is these shoes give them an absolutely luxurious feel. If you must go sockless in a shoe, it's always best to have a leather sole as it absorbs moisture and keeps your feet dry.

Confession here. I was a rest-stop cafe this past summer as we were driving home from NYC. I spotted these shoes, in black, on a seriously stylish woman who must have been in her eighties. She was dressed like something out of a magazine, and the shoes captured my attention immediately. I tried to ask her what the brand was but, alas, she was deaf, so she didn't hear me. A few days later, I got online looking for suede Mary Janes, suede shoes with cut-outs, suede wedges, whatever might work at locating the brand. I finally found them right here on Amazon. The black were more than I wanted to pay, but the turquoise were doable, so I ordered them. I love them. I have forced them to become almost a neutral for me, and I mix them up with black, white, and colors for the fun of it. I will say, Gentle Souls do seem to run large. I also bought a pair of leather gladiator-style heels (another great shoe) and in both, I went down a half-size. Normally an 8.5, I ordered size 8 in both, and the fit is perfect. Let me say, they are extremely comfortable, something I didn't expect, given how stylish they are. The footbed is so cushiony and feels luxurious to the foot. I wore the heels all day, from 11:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night on Thanksgiving, and my feet never hurt for a second, and I was on them just about all of that time, except when I sat down to eat. These wedges also get me through an entire day without a moment of pain. I will probably just decide to keep buying Gentle Souls, despite the price tag, because of the comfort. Luckily, they are also great-looking. Gotta love a shoe company that understands that women want both.

Very disappointed and puzzled upon receiving these shoes. They are at least an inch longer than the marked size and very wide. Huge. They looked so nice in the photos, but were poorly made of really cheap materials. Way overpriced for what they are. Sending them back for a refund.

These are my absolute favorite shoes. I purchased the size that Amazon recommended and they fit like they were hand made for me. My initial inclination was to purchase a different size, so I am glad I bought the recommended size. Would not have done that except for the free return policy. I have psoriatic arthritis in my feet so I need comfortable shoes with good arch support. Some well made shoes will be comfortable for a couple of hours and then my feet will start to hurt. I have worn these shoes for many hours and they just feel like they are a natural part of my foot. I can not say enough about how great the shoes are-AND they look very stylish as well!

I needed some practical black sandals for walking around in the city (Los Angeles). Although it's tempting to get a sandal with little covering the top of my foot, the streets are FILTHY and when I get home wearing traditional sandals I feel as though I need to sterilize my now grey feet.I have had these for a month and these shoes are wonderful. They have become my go-to pair. Yes, they are a little loose on the top of the foot. I have extremely narrow feet but they still fit fine. I have never gotten a blister. There is even a small hole in the heel to allow for breathability and to prevent blisters. Yes, they aren't as sexy as my wedges but I can wear them all day and focus on enjoying the world and people around me, not on my bleeding, dirty feet.

These shoes are very comfortable as Gentle Souls always are. They are elegant too. Perfect combo!

Super comfortable, this is my second pair in the same style. Love the shoes. You can wear them casual or dress them up a bit.
