This looks lovely, but sizing is questionable, significantly so, and the care instructions are contradictory.Size first. I received what was supposed to be an extra large size, but it is cut really small at the join of the first and second tier so, although it fitted with room to spare at the waist, the hip area was more constricting. Consider going a size or two larger than you think you will need as the waist elastic is generous. It adds lots of body to skirts and makes them less transparent as well.Style is like a tiered skirt and very pretty with three different styles of lace. The middle lace tier does not feel like cotton, despite the care label stating the slip is 100% cotton. This may be why the care label says it should not be ironed - the panel of lace feels as though it is constructed from a man made material and that means it could well melt if it comes into contact with an iron.Care instructions are to hand wash in cold water, although I note the product page currently suggests that is optional and the item can be machine washed. I’d go by the garment label and hand wash only in cold water as I suspect this could shrink otherwise and make a small cut garment even worse.If you can get the right size and are prepared to hand wash and line dry, avoiding the use of an iron, this is a very pretty slip with beautiful lace. But the sizing is really odd, perhaps due to the vagaries of hand making and tier gathering.

This is a classic broderie anglaise underskirt which I think is pretty and has enough thickness to be worn as a skirt. I intend wearing this in the summer and abroad in hot countries where loose fitting skirts of a light colour are the best choice.It's way cuter than the pictures with its extensive broderie anglaise lace and the handy elastic waistband also makes it a practical and versatile garment.
