Great hat for beach/pool
Bought the stone/navy option. I am cautious about applying sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, hats, etc. Basically, after a day at the beach or pool, I try to make it look like I spent the day indoors. So far, I have gotten about 7+ full days-or-so of use out of this between beach & pool. Overall a great hat and glad with the purchase. If I needed to buy another similar hat, I'd likely get this again. I know other people that like this brand as well and never any issues with the products. Will continue to buy the brand. The good:*Brim is wide, firm, yet can be molded how you want which provides really great protection of face and neck. I generally fold the front like a baseball hat. Works well.*The chin cord is adjustable, so can be tight or loose against your chin. It can also be removed completely. I find that when I go into the pool, I'll just tuck it into the top (don't even feel it/know it's there), and when I get out, just drop it back down. This helps avoid unclipping/re-clipping since, though is fairly easy, does take a few moments. The reason I do this is to avoid the strings getting wet. Wouldn't matter if they did get wet, I just don't want the wet chords bouncing against me.*Little air vents on the side of the top. Unsure if they work but assume it helps keep cool. Overall, I find my head is generally the same or cooler as if I wore a basic hat.*Not sure if it's water proof or not. If not, it's close to it. When wet in the pool, the water slides off or beads if the brim is flat. I could imagine the brim would slide water off but unsure about the top part. I generally flip the back brim up in the back occasionally when swimming. Super easy. Haven't tried cleaning it.The not as good (but not bad):*Only gripe I have is the sizing. I measured my head prior to purchase and was between sizes. So I ordered the size bigger. It fits fine, won't blow off in the wind, etc., but is just snug enough that my forehead has lines/indents on it from the tightness. Not a huge deal and is not uncomfortable, but perhaps if I buy another colors I'd see about another size larger. There is a strap in the back that appears like it can tighten the hat, and I do have it as big as the hat will allow.Overall:*Happy with the purchase. Keeps cool and just works. Like it better than typical hats for beach & pool type things.*Haven't tried it for golf. Unsure if the brim would get in the way or not. May give it a try.

Great golf hat.
It is a lightweight, but durable golf hat. It is my favorite one for protection from the sun.

Great hat for my fellow men with big melons!
Fellow men with big heads...do you not bother buying hats of your favourite sports teams, because you know they never fit? Are you tired of those hats which say, OSFA, and you feel that it's fraud, because it doesn't fit all? Those hats which are adjustable, that barely fit because it's holding on by less than 1cm of velcro? This is the hat for you! I am so happy I found a hat that was deep and fit my big head! I'm a size 7-7/8 and also require hats to fit deep. I bought an XXL and it fit and performed well for my Caribbean vacation. I wore it our sailing, some swimming and while playing beach volleyball.Yes, I was hesitant because of the price. If the Costco version of this hat would've fit, I would've bought it. The Costco version fits my two sons who are 8 and 6 and will forever have the same issues as their dad. This review is after 8 days of wear in Jamaica, and I hope that it continues to be a great investment in terms of quality and function for many years to come.Update 7/12/2022 - I still love this hat!! I wear it fly fishing or at the pool. I came back to order the gray coloured one, but it's not in the XXL, just the brown (don't really want the brown). Have confidence if you have a big head/melon that this hat is for you!

Very nice and cool hat
Coolibar is a great brand name for these hats - they really are much cooler to wear. I have tried many large brimmed hats for sun protection but they invariably become uncomfortable in the heat of the sun. These hats are dramatically cooler to wear compared to just about every other hat I have tried. I have no problem wearing them for hours without overheating.

Love it
This is a little pricey but is worth it. Quality is outstanding and for a guy with a big head it fits really well.

King big head reporting in
I have a big head. Luckily I’m also tall with wide shoulders, otherwise I’d look like a human toffee apple.I’ve never been able to wear hats, except baseball caps on the final hole. I learned long ago the promise of ‘one size fits all’ was not for me.Finally, facing another long hot Aussie summer, I decided to apply all my big-headed power to finding a hat that fit me.After a lot of googling it came down this Coolibah one or a ‘boonie hat’. To be honest I probably would have bought a boonie hat as they are much cheaper, and enough for what I need, but I couldn’t find one that I was totally confident would fit my giant melon. This Coolibah one had several positive reviews from fellow members of the big head clan, so I thought what the heck I’ll spend $100. It did feel like a lot money for a hat though. It took a while for it to get to me in Adelaide, over 2 weeks. When I opened the box and examined it, my first reaction was ‘this looks quality’.As soon as I put it on my head, my heart sank a little. It does fit, but it’s a touch on the snug side.I took it on a full day hike, my first big test. Fortunately it was comfortable all day, it didn’t annoy me. But I still wish it was like 1cm bigger. And this is an XXL hat!I can’t fault the quality at all, it is clearly a superior hat. I noticed a couple of other reviewers complained about the shape of the brim. I don’t know what they’re talking about. The brim is awesome at blocking out the sun and is exactly the shape and flexibility I expected. In terms of the style, I felt like the second I put it on I was transformed into a 48 year old accountant taking his family on a RV trip to Florida. I’ll probably only wear this while gardening, hiking or maybe at the beach. In summary, this is a well-made, slightly too expensive item. If the style appeals to you and you don’t have an even bigger head than me (which is probably impossible), you won’t be disappointed. However, if you just want a hat for gardening or hiking you may want to look into boonie hats too.
