I like collecting the pan sets, I have several sets of top of the line brands. They are all excellent. But compared to the rest, the Schmincke’s are simply deeper richer colors. I love them.

The best watercolors I ever had,

If you enjoy watercolor painting and want to step up to nicer, professional quality paints, Schmincke brand is one of the best options. There isn't a brand that is clearly better. This set is very nice and you will certainly be happy with it if you have been using lesser quality paints. Something to keep in mind though, is that this is an affordable entry level kit. It does not have the fancier and more expensive alternative colors that Schmincke offers. The colors in this set tend to be more opaque than some alternate colors that you could purchase separately, for more money. You will like the set, but you might be happier if you do your research and put together a set of colors that you select individually. Schminke has 81 single-pigment colors, lots of great convenience-colors and a line of 45 really cool granulating paints to choose from. There are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube to help you figure out how to assemble a custom pallette.A custom set of paints and an empty Schmincke box, to put them in, might cost you three or four times as much as this set though. So you have to decide what your budget and needs are. If this set is what you can afford or if selecting a custom pallette seems overwhelming, go ahead and get this set. It's very nice.Bonus tip - Getting better quality paper like Arches Cold Pressed will make the biggest difference in the quality of your paintings. After you have that covered, get a nice #12 brush and then upgrade your paints and get more brushes after that.

I absolutely love these colors! They are so rich and vibrant. The quality is way above any of the cheap student sets I tried. I’m actually a beginner in water color but let me tell you that having these great quality Schmincke colors has helped me a lot. I realized the cheap student sets have colors that are made by blending several pigments and a lot of filler, so they won’t really blend nicely. But these colors on the other hand blend so beautifully 👍😎 They make painting easier and more fun. The 12 colors here will take you a really long way. These are expensive colors but trust me you get what you paid for. They are so rich that you don’t even need a lot of pigment to already have a great looking wash. I would really recommend the schmicnke colors for anyone who’s serious about water color!

Stark pigmentiere Farben für gute Malergebnisse. Die Farben halten eine Weile, weil man nicht so viel Farbe wie bei schlecht pigmentierten Farben benötigt.
