Q: Is it dishwasher safe?

Definitely dishwasher safe. The only drawback to this trap, as with other kill traps, is that if it catches the rat someplace other than the head/neck, it may not die instantly. I had to humanely shoot one captive with a pellet gun, as it was wounded.

Q: sooo after you catch it (hopefully dead- how to get rid of it without touching?

I caught two rats with this and I didn't have to touch either one to open the trap into a bag.

No, I didn't have any setup issues

Q: Does this trap have a hole in the back so it can be tied to an object so the rat cannot move it if it is not killed outright.

Yes, it does. -- usually the rat gets killed.
