Sylvania 20724 Compact Fluorescent 4 Pin Double Tube 3000K, 18-watt

Excellent replacement for the two 18-watt 4-pin lamps in a ~2010 Panasonic Whisper Green Lite bathroom fan with built-in light. These 4-pin lamps are about 3/4 inch longer than the Panasonic FDS18E35/4 lamps. Just replaced so time will tell. The Panasonic lamps lasted about 3 years with normal bathroom usage. It is worth noting that Amazon aggregates all the reviews for this type of Sylvania lamp on one page, and there are many variations in wattage and light color. Look at the small print at the top of a review. Make sure the lamp needed has the same 4-pin or 2-pin connector.For this 18-watt 4-pin lamp there are 4 different light color options that relate to the Kelvin light temperature. Lower Kelvin lamps, such as 2700K are a "warm" yellowish-white light, and this is the most common light color for residential screw-in lamps, be they incandescent, LED or CFL (compact fluorescent). There are also 3,000K, 3,500K and 4,100K options, with the 4,100K being more institutional, "cold," bluish-white light. The higher Kelvin light colors are actually closer to sunlight, but in North America we are more used to a 2,700K warm artificial light at home. The original Panasonic lamp was 3,500K, and I went for 3,000K which looks good -- neither noticeably yellow or blue. This lamp is also CRI 82, which is its light quality- "color rendering index." That is good for a fluorescent lamp. The "830" designation for this lamp covers both CRI (1st digit), and light color (2nd & 3rd digits). So this lamp is a 20724-830 -- 20724 style bulb, 80'ish CRI, and 3,000K light color.

Adding my voice to other reviews....this bulb (3000k double tube) is a perfectly good match to the Panasonic bathroom vent/light combo.

What can I say it's an overpriced fluorescent lightbulb use for old technology fixtures. Surprisingly enough my $150 ceiling fan light combo from Panasonic uses this type.Amazon has decent prices on these bulbs so does Home Depot but different brand. We'll see how long these last I'm not expecting more than nine months out of it, which would be a good one for these bulbs.

I wanted to reduce the wattage on our overhead light/fan: dual 18 W florescent tubes in a 4'x4' room is just too bright. So I bought the 13 W version. Turns out these are keyed so that you can't do that: if it's made for an 18 W bulb, you need to replace it with a 18 W bulb.But that's not Sylvania's fault, that's my fault for being ignorant. Just want to warn you.Once I ordered the correct wattage, it works great. Nice color and brightness.

Works perfectly, paid much less than going to a local store.
