A definite biography of one of the earliest game show hosts in history who had a long and varied career; another well researched book by Adam Nedeff.

A TV star when TV started
Dennis James was a commercial spokesman, a sports announcer, a game show host, a telethon chairman and more. He was steadily employed for nearly 50 years. From his early TV career in the 40s to golf tournaments in the 80s, he found a way to keep working and not look back. Along the way, he met a ton of celebs who are mentioned. Frank Sinatra and Elvis are probably the most famous names, but there's lots more. Dennis left us in 1997 at age 79. Through his wife, Micki and other family members and friends, we discover:the first game show he hosted, considered to be the first TV game showhis relationship with the Dumont networkhow the phrase "Okay Mother' was used by himthe one time he mentioned the wrong sponsor's name on a commercialthe blow up he had with Mark Goodson after a showthe TV show that led to him hosting "The Price is Right"his long-time involvement with United Cerebal PalsyDennis accomplished a lot in his long career. This book pays tribute to that. Another well-done job by author Adam Nedeff.
