Works surprisingly well but can be finicky
When I plugged this in initially to view a server from another room on my desk monitor, it did not show up. I had to fiddle with the display settings for the video card in order for picture to show up. After that though, it worked flawlessly! My one gripe is that the unit that is being powered by the wall wart is very hot like others mention. This is simply a byproduct of what the processing in the onboard chip is doing, but something to be aware of.

Great for AV installs, remote live camera feed
Nifty little box let me extend 4k video + audio by 100ft using Cat8 Ethernet.

These things are great.
My projector already had one HDBaseT connection, but I was using that for our camera switcher system. I needed another long distance HDMI connection for people using laptops or Blu-Ray players. I tried the regular HDMI extenders, but they were very hit and miss and would constantly lose sync, no matter what cables I used. Then I looked around and found this pair. Wow, what a difference. The boxes may be a little wider, but they mount well, and have enough information on them you can see what is going on, and even better, they support POC (Power Over Cable). Meaning you only need one power adapter to power both sides. It doesn't matter which side either, so in my case, I have plenty of room in the ceiling for the wall wart and HDBaseT receiver, but down below I want to keep things neat and uncomplicated. By putting the power up in the ceiling, I have one less cable down below, prevents people from screwing with stuff, and a high quality HDMI extender always ready. The signal is also travelling on a standard CAT5e wire! No shielding, no CAT6 and their finicky RJ-45s... They cost double what the "cheap" HDMI extenders, but #1, that still isn't much and #2, well worth it.

Very high quality units.
These are very well made. Extremely heavy units.Work perfectly right out of the box. They come with IR receiver and mounting brackets. Very pleased with the purchase.

Exceeded my expectations with 4K video!
After attempting to use what I assumed to be an adequate HDMI cable (run through the walls when the house was built 7 years ago) to connect my AV receiver to a ceiling mounted projector, I was disappointed to find out the cable simple couldn't support the data throughput needed to run 4K. Luckily we also had a Cat 5e cable run with the HDMI cable. I was skeptical at first on how well this would perform and even more skeptical when I found out that either the transmitter or the receiver was powered over the Cat 5e cable by the the other unit. Plugged it all in and it worked like a charm! haven't had any issues and love that I didn't have to provision power for it at the projector. Only concern I have is how hot the units gets when in use. Almost unable to handle kind of hot. Just hope that heat doesn't result in life-loss down the line.
