Better than a charcoal chimney
I’ve used charcoal chimneys in the past and they all have the same flaws. Cheap paint on cheap thin gauge metal. Most of them end up with the paint baked off after the first use and by fall the bottom is rotted out. Not to mention they aren’t practical on a park style grill. The last thing I needed was to burn myself trying to dump lit charcoal under the grill grate. That’s where the Brutal BBQ charcoal lighter shines. Just pile your charcoal on top of a lit fire starter and wait. The heavy metal (cast iron, I think) seems like it will last a long time and the compact design allows it to fit inside the metal bucket I use to ensure my charcoal stays dry. I would definitely recommend it.

Great device!
I bought this for camping. Worked like a charm for me! My daughter tried it with our kettle grill and was not as successful. I'm wondering if the grill shape prevented the starter from getting adequate airflow. Anyhoo, I'm not including that experience in this review, because that was not what I bought it for! For my purposes, it does the job!

Much Better than a Chimney!
I've been using a chimney for years, but quit after an errant coal fell on the deck and burned several boards. This device makes getting a fire going so much safer and easier. Better yet, I have found that it gets my coals up to cooking temp faster than a chimney does. Built like a brick house and is the best solution to get your coals smoking hot!

Simply genius
Product gives you that air flow from bottom of the pile to push the flames through the rest of the pile of charcoal for easy firer starting.

Ease of use
Combined with the tumbleweed firestarters this thing makes getting my charcoal going a breeze. I started using a torch and that take time standing there. With this I can start it up and dump charcoal on top and it gets the lump charcoal going in no time. I have since sold a few of my friends on one as well. It is an easy concept and great tool to keep around.

The media could not be loaded.
