Ritorno nella terra dei colossi
Molto interessante e ben scritto. Consigliato a chi voglia rivivere l'esperienza del gioco, sbirciando un po' dietro le quinte del capolavoro di Ueda.

Not great
We're huge fans of "Shadow" in our household. This book was not good. The prose was suuuuuper lowbrow, observations obvious + rote, a big waste of time. It's definitely just a love letter, like others have said, and not a particularly good love letter either. The author goes to great lengths to blather on about stuff like his beard - it's just not adequately researched or exploratory.

A loving analysis of an exceptional game and game-world
A nice little book that examines the PlayStation game Shadow of the Colossus. It looks at the game through an almost-philosophical lens while taking the reader through each level of game play. There are some tangents about the author's beard, etc, that are irrelevant, that I've noticed is a feature of books like these that examine a beloved cultural item (the 33.3 book series examining iconic albums does this, as well), but the author gets back on track eventually. This book is well-researched, relying heavily on what others have written about SOTC as well as some first-hand access/research to the game's creators. Due to its publication date there's no mention of the upcoming SOTC ripoff game Praey for the Gods, which is okay, because PFTG looks highly derivative. The author has a love for SOTC that shines through this book; and I agree SOTC is an exceptional game that transcends the average video game. This book led me to some other analyses of games that are more higher-level than just "Bro, that game is awesome." If you like the games Ico and SOTC you'll most likely enjoy this book.

Very good
I liked the book a lot but i thought the author would talk less about playing through the game. However it was really good to read it and see that other people who played the game had the exact same feeling that I did.
