Great examples of spiritual women that made a difference in those times. Great examples for modern women to follow.Accurate historical references and insight to the time period. Very easy to relate their experiences to today.

As a minister I bought this book thinking it'd be a good resource for a bible study I am leading on "Women in the Gospels." There isn't much theological or text critical depth to this book, just kind of summarizes the obvious. Not really what I was looking for for an educated, theologically sound bible study.

My women's faith sharing group used this book. It does require some effort to do the readings and reflect on the questions. But it is well worth the effort.

My Bible study group is anxious to start this book in October. We have used several studies from this series and it hasn't disappointed us yet.

This book is a good starting point but the real value is in the conversations it inspires. Inspiring for small groups when read prayerfully and discussed.
