Very informative and well written. This book covers this tragedy in a short yet interesting and serious manner. I love history and this story has always fascinated me.

Good overview from a different perspective. Has some things I did not find in other books I have read. Not as comprehensive as it could be but I have found with regard to the Donner Party you need to read more than one book anyway.

This book is interesting and somewhat informative. Not enough of the story to understand how and why these pioneers did what they did.Still good if you have never read about this story. I think if I had read this before any other books on this subject I would want to know more about it.

I visited Donner Pass as a child with my mother and grandparents, and never forgot the sight of the monument showing the depth of the snow these poor unfortunate people suffered in. Much of the book contains first person accounts from the Donner party. It is a good read to those who have forgotten how lucky we all are.

Some interesting info, but riddled with spelling and grammar errors. If Charles River EDITORS needs a real editor, I'm available.

Such a great historical review of an amazing trek of pioneers and how they added history for all of us. Enjoyable reading. Everyone loving history of the Old West should read this book.

This is a good quick history of the Donnor Party’s tragic short cut to California. It is pretty straightforward and doesn’t sensationalize the fact that a starving group of people resorted to canibalism under the most dire circumstances.

Brief account owing to the amount of source material and available after the passage of the of time and circumstances of the Donner Party. The nevertheless we interesting.
