Nice book with lots of detail

There is a lot of good information in this book. I would read it cover to cover first but then keep it around as a reference book. Unusually for sewing books this is one that works in Kindle format.

It is a good resource to keep on the shelf. I have used it a number of times for different jobs and to help formulate a plan for new projectsI borrowed it from library before and wanted my own copyGreat value for money

I bought this book after taking up sewing again after many years. The step by step instructions are very well done. The book is great for beginners and those who want a refresher in all of the basics of machine sewing. I would recommend this book.

Nice little book for my collection

This is a duplicate of The Sewing Book by the same author but with far less in it. It states on the front cover How to use your sewing machine to make, mend and customise which has no relevance and is misleading to the point that you think it is an entirely different book.Page by page the pictures and wording are identical but far more content in The Sewing Book. Fraudulent practice in saying it is different. You cannot tell until you get the book.Have gone to return it but they want to charge me for it. So after paying postage in the first place and then paying again to return it 8 find it a complete con.Buyers beware.

Great for standard dress-making techniques, but virtually nothing on basic mending techniques (e.g. darning).

I am not a beginner, but still not an expert. I found this book to be easy to read, clearly illustrated, and helpful! It is the best book on seams I’ve seen to date.
