"I don't know how my pictures happen, they just do. They exist, but for the life of me I can"t explain them" - Beryl Cook, O.B.E. 1926 - 2008 Beryl Cook began to paint during the 1960s and became a local phenomenon in Cornwall, England where she lived with her family, but it wasn't until 1975 that she first exhibited her work. Her appeal was classless and she rapidly became Britain's most popular artist. She was a 'heart and soul' painter, compelled to paint with a passion. Her work became instantly recognisable and was soon a part of our artistic vernacular. A modern-day Hogarth, Beryl Cook was a social observer, albeit with a more sympathetic view of humanity. The warm, original style of her paintings encapsulates joy. She possessed that rare gift - the power to uplift. Now the work of Beryl Cook can be seen again, both by her loyal fans and a new generation, in this vibrant and fun product range from Kinkajou. Review: Exuberant Paintings - These are a Hoot to Send! - These paintings are exuberant and make for a set of happy postcards. Images are from everyday life – we've all been there. Some show teasingly suggestive humor – and we've been there, too! Each postcard is a little less each way than 6 3/16" x 4 3/8". The card stock is sturdy, but postcard postage will still do. The set comes in a nice box that slides open, no gumminess to remove. The only negative is that the address/message side is a medium gray color. I have no idea why they went that route. Also, it would have been nice if they listed the name of each painting reproduced on the back of the postcard. But other than that, a great set of images. Published by Kinkajou, London. Happy Reader Review: Love love love!!!!! - Absolutely stunning! I plan on framing these, and giving them as Christmas gifts! I can't get over how many cards you get for this price!!!!

Fabulous copies of Beryl Cook's delightful paintings. Wish the names of the paintings were given on each card. A wonderful set of postcards to keep and send.

Nice postcards, though not a standard size for some reason.
Nice. The reverse of the cards isn't white but is printed to look aged, at least that's the impression it gives. Slightly lighter weight card than I expected. Box is sturdy and well made. Made a nice gift along with a magnetic acrylic frame. NOTE: pay attention to the size given as these are NOT standard postcard size. They're not a standard size at all, so if you want them to display rather than send you'll need a bespoke mat inside a 5"x7" frame or the acrylic type I ended up finding. NOT 6"x4".
