It works but is not accurate like OEM
The original trim sender on my 99 SeaRay had rotted wiring and one of the prongs inside the sender had broken fingers causing the needle on the trim guage to move erratically when raising or lowering the transom.I decided to give this product a try since it's about 1/4 the cost of OEM. Installation of both the trim and limit senders was pretty straightforward following some YouTube videos. I was able to replace them without having to remove the bellhousing.Once I was done, I tested these seders. The limit sender works fine (it's a basic contact/no contact unit) But the trim sender is inaccurate. It causes the needle on the trim guage to jump from the bottom position to about 1/4 with the littlest UP click of the trim switch. Pressing UP again moves the gauge needle to about 1/2 despite the transom hardly moving up. The rest of the way UP behaves normally, except that at the highest point of the trim UP position, the needle on the trim guage is maxed out to the top. It's not supposed to do this unless the transom is at the full UP trailering position.Anyway, I decided to open up the trim sender and I replaced the rheostat with the one from my original unit and now my gauge reads perfectly at every position of the transom. From all the way down, a slight press UP on the trim switch reflects very slight needle movement on the gauge. And at the max trim UP position, the guage reads 3/4. Then raising the transom to the full UP trailer position registers full UP on the guage. So while the rheostat on this product isn't good, the rest of the product appears to be well made and worth the purchase if one still has the rheostat from their original trim sender and is willing to swap it onto this one.

Good for a quick fix
I had ordered a replacement oem rotor for the trim sender, but by the time it arrived, the spring steel brushes had corroded away.I used just the brushes from this kit to replace them. The rotor that came with this resulted in very jumpy trim indication on the gauge. Using an oe mercruiser rotor with the other parts from this is working great. Will see tomorrow how well it seals.

Cheap replacement of internal parts
I didn't want to mess with the wiring from my boat. I just replaced internal parts from Lucas and the trim sensors work again.

Buyer Beware
I bought the trim senders for $32 and should have known better. After taking the outdrive off and a lot of hard work, the starboard trim worked for a short time, about a week, and the port side did not work at all. I have reordered from another supplier at twice the cost. The OEM his 4x the cost. Don't be foolish, ask yourself, what is the likelihood that these low priced units, that are 25% of OEM cost are any good. I wish I had just thought it through. Now I am really paying for it, loss of my time and $32. I wish I had read this review before buying.

they work most of the time
Usually they work great. But sometimes they don't work at all. And fine tuning them at the bottom of the trim doesn't seem to work. The gauge jumps in either direction.
