Fun Creative Toy for Many Ages
Big hit with my 5-year old grand-nephew. I had to take it out of the box because it wouldn't fit in my suitcase so I was worried that he wouldn't "get it" but he was quite captivated for an extended period. His father seemed to enjoy it too! It was fun watching the two of them create and then seeing the little one explore on his own. I had gotten a similar set (without the wheels) for my elderly father who suffered from Alzheimer's and he enjoyed it as well. This appears to be a nice, durable creative and fun toy for many ages. I do wish it had come with a bag to store the pieces although they do stick together nicely.

Hours of fun for the family!
Bought a starter set years ago when this toy first came out, we have been adding sets ever sense. the base magnet shapes are even good for toddlers little fingers. Magnets are strong and well secured inside the shapes. Buildings stand tall until taken down. Great as gifts!!

My new favorite toy
My previous favorite toy was Magna-Tiles Clear Colors 100 Piece Set . I bought them when my oldest grandson was 3. He just turned 6. They have entertained him, and his cousins for hours and hours in the short time we have had them. I love seeing how creative in their constructions they can be.The Magformers Wow Set was a Lightning Deal and I thought it might be a good addition since it had some wheels and can make cars/trucks/trains. etc. After I ordered it, I decided 16 pieces would not be enough, so I also ordered a 62 piece set. They both arrived today while the 6 year old was here. We had the best time with them. They can do things the Magnatiles cannot do. I am most impressed with the instructions on how to lay the pieces out flat and then lift by one of the center pieces, pulling it into a 3-D figure. You can't do that with the Magnatiles since they are solid and have no opening in the center to pick them up. I am a retired geometry teacher, so to be able to have children translate what they want their 3-D figure to look like when finished into the 2-D model is HUGE. I don't expect my 6 year old grandson to be able to do this for awhile, but he can make the pattern the picture shows and see how it will pull into the 3-D figure. I want toys he can grow with and this is definitely one of those. I have 7 grandchildren, so I expect these will be a favorite toy to play with at grandma's house. I ordered another set this afternoon because I saw that there are sets with pentagons and we didn't have any in the sets I already purchased. Yes, these are an investment, but I expect they will be a favorite for many, many years. Possibly even longer than Legos, since we really haven't gotten into those yet.

Fun toy for many ages
We bought these for our 4 year old. I think they are really cool and thought he'd love them since he likes building with legos. He isn't too into them on his own but if I am helping him build or instruct him to make shapes he will play along. This comes with big flash cards to show ideas on how to make different shapes or objects. It's made to size so you can lay magnets right on top of the cards and make a house or rocket, etc. It also comes with a bunch of car designs to make. My older son (10) enjoyed making the cars more than my 4 year old. He enjoyed making the shapesOn the cards. My daughter (age 2) has a different set and she just enjoys stacking the magnets and pulling them apart.

Great investment!!!!!
This is a great investment for kids of all ages. We recently rented a vacation home and the family had this exact set in the kids' bedroom. My almost 3 year old son is really interested in them. He doesn't "get" how to build quite yet, but will easily grow into them. My 8 year old daughter and 39 year old (heehee ... husband!) had a lot of fun seeing all the different types of vehicles they could build with these. They also built some building structures. We purchased these while still on vacation to save for our son's birthday and they had arrived the day we got home. WTG Amazon! 2 day shipping ended up taking only 1 day. Our daughter was so into playing with these, that we let them start playing with them yesterday. I am sure we will add on later so they have even more pieces. I think the set it adequate but I imagine how much further their imaginations will stretch with more pieces.A good investment for a building toy. Our older daughter with Down Syndrome seemed intrigued by the magnetic workings of the pieces also.

Encourages Creative Thinking
My kids love, love, love these magnetic blocks. Each Christmas we buy a new set to add to our collection. I love that they encourage creative thinking and love seeing what the children dream up and build. I also like how easy they are to clean up. Since they are magnetic, we just throw them into a plastic bin and they stay right in place. They are great to take along in the car as well as on vacation. We have taken them several times with us and pull them out for the kids when they need something to do. The possibilities are endless with these. I have also used them in my classrooms with several different age groups and kids love them. They are a bit on the pricy side, but they are well worth it.

LOVE the Magformer toys!
I love these toys. Even though the magformers are expensive, they are well worth it as they will last forever. My sons 1 and 4 LOVE these toys and play with them daily. Yes DAILY. We have had one set since last Christmas (almost a year) and I ordered this set in July to join it and it is just as good as the first one. Between the two sets they keep coming up with new stuff to build. (I will say they played with the first set by itself every day and they still came up with a ton of stuff--now it is just double the fun) Would I like to have more? Of course but given the cost we have to buy them in chunks. Don't get me wrong one set is enough to have fun with and the wheels and hexagons are a big hit and in almost every creation that they make. So if you had to pick just one set I would say this is a good one to go with. The best part is that they are magnets (so they are learning magnetic properties) and they are safe --which many magnets are not because they are so small they pose choking hazards...these do not.
