most of the negative reviews in my opinion are from people who over-fill it, cant find a big enough pot or maybe cant tie their shoes. Who would be filtering hot oil? i only agree that it could be made easier to store

Excellent results
This system for filtering oil is very effective and makes for a much less mmessy job than is possible with a mesh filter. The disadvantage is you are disposing of the filter each time, but I expect it will extend the quality of the oil itself. I'm glad I bought it!

Great for filtering your oil and you can re-use the filters a few times...
I put this over a stock pot and used the included filters. After filtering my oil I washed the filter out in my sink and dried it so I could use it again. I think you may be able to get 5 uses out of one filter. I highly recommend this.
