Perfect monitor controller for my home studio
I started off with the Mackie Big Knob because it was cheap and technically met all of my needs (2 in 2 out). I decided to try this Behringer unit after giving up trying to solve ground loop and wireless interference noises that were only present when the Big Knob was in line.First impression.. this thing is nice! Nothing about the hardware feels cheap in any way. It has plenty of mass to stay put on a desk while having 9 XLR cables plugged into it. The volume knob has a nice detent and all of the push buttons feel great, and the way they light up when enabled is so much better having to squint at the Big Knob to see if buttons are in or out.Sound quality is fantastic. I can tell no difference at all between going direct from interface to monitors vs having this in between. Both inputs can be active at the same time which can be a convenient feature depending on your setup. Having a dedicated toggle for the sub has been great too since it can be deceptive when mixing in a not so great room.My only gripe is that both headphone jacks are on the front and in my particular setup it would be nice to have at least one of those on the back to avoid a cable running over my desk.. Also, double check the dimensions - it is a little bigger than I was expecting, but it does allow for the buttons and knobs to be spread out for comfortable use even if you have fat sausage fingers.Unless you need more ins and outs, I can't imagine any of the more expensive monitor controllers being able to compare to this one. This isn't just nice for the price, it really is a nice piece of gear.

Works great
I bought this to replace another passive monitor controller that had some noise problems. This one is quiet and doesn't seem to color the sound. It's well built and works great for a small home studio/gaming set up. Currently set up to monitor DAW output from my mac mini through an audio interface as well as the audio out from my windows gaming PC using the MONITOR2USB as an external USB audio device. This doesn't permit using an external microphone or headset/mic combo connected to the MONITOR2USB for the PC, it's audio out only but that's all I need.

I love this station!
Lots of options, works perfectly. I love the XLR options for sure. Looks cool, works perfectly, quiet, years later and it's just like new. I ended up getting a second one for my other spot because it's so useful. Thanks Behr!

Awesome
There's not much competition out there for a flat monitor controller that has USB, 2 input channels and two output channels plus a 3rd mono output for a sub I'm guessing.Pros:- sound quality is clear, no noise, no distortion, no coloring- build quality is great- the amount of uses you can get for this price is unbeatable (I can only thing of the SPL monitor controllers and they start at $600)- fairly compact, it fits on my desk under the computer, tidy!Cons:- I wish the volume knob was intended instead of stepped because the jump from one click to the next is a bit too loud, I wish I could fine-tune more the loudness- occasionally I get some glitchy noises and I have to restart it. It's an easy fix enough that I'm not looking into alternatives any time soon

Lasted about 1 month. Second unit works great.
Used for about a month. The volume knob stopped working. Lowering the volume to zero lets the signal through and the volume goes up and down randomly. When it worked it was nice, but it lasted only weeks. Not sure if this is a defective unit, or just poor quality build.UPDATE: the replacement unit works as expected. Great amazon gave me enough time to replace the item. Now that I have a working unit, it's great. Having a big volume knob and being able to get audio in and usb audio in, it's great! I still have to try the mono output, but since I don't have a use for it, I'll probably never know. Overall the product is great, i just hope it'll last.Update 2: months have passed and it has been working great. Very useful product. Upgrading to 5 stars.Update 3: 8 months in and this has become an indispensabile tool for me. Just great!

Nice Price, Simple Concept
This monitor2usb from Behringer replaces a Behringer Studio XL, which replaced a Mackie Big Knob Studio+, all of which were centerpieces on my mixing desk and got used a lot every day. The Big Knob will tend to get a scratchy sound in the main pot, which is fairly normal, but VERY difficult if possible at all to treat, because of its passive design. The Behringer Studio XL also gets scratchy, and has a pre-amped pot, so it just takes a drop of Progold Lube (or similar) and the issue disappears, BUT the actual knob itself might break (the plastic physically breaks), and Behringer support is ... well ... what you get at these prices. It's sometimes easier to pay this surprisingly low price for something like this monitor2usb.The price is very aggressive, and this device can replace many of the features of either "big knob" devices. It seems to be invisible, color-wise, to your music. The knob feels good. I'm back in business for peanuts. Thanks Behringer! It's worth noting on this unit these are NOT multi-purpose in/out sockets on the back - they are just XLR. Everything is designed for balanced cables. You may need to replace cables if you're replacing another unit as this unit doesn't accommodate 1/4" cables at all. Also note the third speaker output is a single jack, intended for a subwoofer, but can also be sent to an Avantone or other full range mono speaker. Just what you needed! Nice product.
