Beyond belief
I've read lots of victim true stories and they always cease to amaze me these awful people. I found this story hard to believe and all the missed opportunities by neighbours and Social Departments ; who was checking on all the school moves? . I didn't quite enjoy way it was written by a third party, as much as the victim as the author. The writer portrayed her as very adult I had to remind myself she was 5 how would a child that age be capable of those thoughts! no doubt horrific acts would be imprinted in the mind and I can only surmise it was pieced together bit by bit. Some of the scenes/rampage by the Mother strange, as her mood ping ponged that was weird, nice then wicked. I would have liked to have read the conclusion of how they were found and taken to safety. You would hope this wasn't happening. but in 2022 here in the UK. Social Services are missing abuse cases all the time, these awful abuse cases and deaths to children in the news are too often.

Hard to read..and not just because of the story
The book was full of basic spelling mistakes which really detracted from my reading. There's even a spelling mistake in the blurb on the back cover.Towards the end of the book the fonts are different which I found really irritating. As for the story, I hope that it isnt true, but have a horrible feeling it might be.Tough reading.Wish the ending was more conclusive, the reader is left with more questions than answers

Sketchy
I wasn't sure about this book. I wasn't even sure it was a true story til the end. I found it off that a 5 year old child could remember minute details like how many candy bars they bought in the shop each time, every dollar bill that was counted and each value each time. The time on the clock (and most 5 year olds can't tell the time). It's a book that contains a lot of small detail which is why it almost reads like a novel. There is no background to the story either, so there's not much information about the mother and sisters etc. I also found it odd that she adored her sister who tried to murder her every chance she got. And that her, the youngest kept all her siblings safe at 5 years old when some of them were teenagers. Very strange. At the end of the book it tells us Samantha is a real person and that was her story, that should be at the start of the book. It's a tragic story and an easy read but the book needs editing.

Heart wrenching story but it leaves you wandering what the outcome was for the mother but more importantly those poor girls

Unbelievable child cruelty, it reads as if it was written for child abusers paedophiles
This book is the worst child abuse I have ever heard of, I worked for almost fourth years for social services never would I believe that the children were not taken into care more can I believe that any of the men and approached did not go to the police the doctor who lived over the hill from the family did nothing to the police to tell them that he suspected child abuse of the mothers so called friend did not get untouched anonymous with the authorities it is amazing that teachers did not pickup on the pain a small child was. In when she sat down or walked I read the lol I could not stop reading waiting for the mother was brought to trial but you read it and make your own mind upUnbelievable mother
