I've read SO many dog books (30+ - it's part of my dog training job) and this one is going immediately into my top ten.Easy to follow, accessible, clear, knowledgeable and full of helpful info. You will genuinely be doing real scentwork with your dog by the time you're about 3 chapters in. Cannot recommend highly enough.

An excellent book providing simple instructions on how to train your dog to complete scentwork.It is based on the activities that would have to be completed if you want your dog to compete. However, due to my dog's fear issues we are using it as additional mental stimulation to help entertain him and build his confidence. We are thoroughly enjoying the training.Although you need equipment the author makes great use of recycling so once you have purchased the book and of course treats there is very little outlay!

I have really enjoyed working through this book. The information it offers is great, and really that is all you need from a book.If there is any criticism it is for the quality of the paper and cover. If I want to keep this on hand when training I will have to go back 40+ years and make a cover for this book. But don't let this put you off, the content is worth a few minutes with sticky back plastic and brown paper, it might even be fun 🤣

A nice introduction to the training. Clear and concise.

I really liked this book... It's not the first scent detection book I've read but it's by far the easiest to read and understand. The author has a great writing style that's informative, practical and concise (and witty in parts!!). There are detailed chapters on indication, searching and combining the two. I like how the book flows in terms of the training steps as well as the equipment needed to begin. I'm at the start of my scent work journey with my dog but there's no doubt that this book will be kept very close to hand and continually referred to along the way. Thank you!

For the price what a waste of money. The book is full of random blank rectangles, poor print quality and all pics are in black and white. The technique may be fantastic but i was put off by the poor quality for the price and will be looking for a more inviting and professionaly presented book. Note to auther it does not matter how good you are poor presentation puts people off.

The media could not be loaded.  Just getting started so I’ll try to leave a more detailed review at some point in the future but I noticed almost immediately that some of these gray boxes that I’ve been concerned about are actually for notes. Several negative reviews have dinged the book for these boxes. They’re actually meant to be there. Book seems simple and straightforward.
