I've been using Sterling chargers for about 10 years and have never been disappointed. They are multiple stage units with built in power saving mode to extend the life of your batteries. The 24V 20AMP unit has small screw on terminals and the 24V 30AMP unit has the larger bolt lugs. The unit has multiple preprogrammed charging profiles for different battery types, and one custom charging profile if you want to set up your own bulk, absorption, and float voltages. It can be used as both a charger or a standalone power supply. It is light, quiet, and easy to install. I highly recommend this product.

I installed this charger on a 31' cruising power boat, with conventional flooded lead/acid batteries, split into two banks: start & house. It works very well, can handle house 12V loads while plugged in and keeping the house bank up. ... Easy to install, seems like a tough unit, the front face has a lot of lights and indicators but is actually pretty simple to read once you study it a little.

I like the ability to see how the batteries are charging from the helm without going into the bilge. It was easy to install, although directions would have been nice. Removing the ends to get to the screw holes was interesting. No screws are included for installation.Lastly, it would be nice to view the batteries charge state when you are not connected to shore power. This unit only gives you a read out when connected to shore power. I would have thought it would give you a DC voltage readout when not hooked to the dock.I still give it 4 stars because it does work well, it just needs to have that 1 feature improved for viewing without AC power.

Easy install/replacement for my Promatic 30-3 charger. Only issue is that the temperature sensor wite was too short and the company didn’t respond when I inquired about an extension. There are plenty of posts elsewhere on ways to extend them, but I was hoping for something direct/sanctioned by Sterling. I’ll update post if I experience any problems.

The requirements of return make it virtually impossible to return and have a restocking fee that would cost ostensibly 70% of the cost with you paying to send it back with all original packing, original receipt, and subject to their testing... that you pay for

This is an amazing charger. I’m so glad to have power back on my boat. You need to change it to PS mode instead of DS mode. I could not be happier with this.

Works great. Wish it had battery lugs, I had to snip and strip by battery cables. Also the fan is pretty loud.

We use several of these on remote communication sites and they work great. I will be buying more of these as time goes on.
