Well Reasoned, Actionable, Useful Advice
This book is a fantastic aid for thinking about what you want to do with your life, and creating a plan to get you there. It's relevant to college undergrads who are trying to balance doing what they like with making a good income, as well as mid-career professionals who are trying to have both an exciting career and a rewarding family life. He's thoughtful and intellectual without being boring. It's refreshing to read something that is both instructive and motivating, but leaves out the mindless cheerleading of most management and motivational books. There are the usual checklists and summaries, but the meat of the book is stories that Smith tells about the people he's advised, and the conclusions he drew from those stories.Smith ignores the usual "entitled millennial" tropes and just focuses on two questions: how does one uncover what they are passionate about, and how does one then cleverly and deliberately turn that passion into a great career that provides you with a good income and a full life. There's good, actionable advice in here and I'd recommend it to anyone who's thinking about what to do next – or, in the case of a teenager or college student, what to do first.

Great career advice
It seems like he could read my mind and presented all kinds of questions I had to stop thinking to figure out answers. His questions are very decisive and help me see my career path clearly and start to work hard to achieve my ideal plan for great career. I wish myself could find such a piece of advice earlier before I had finished my undergrad and entered grad school.Nice piece of writing. Highly recommended!

The best career book I’ve read
I’ve read my my share of career and career-related books over the past years, each with their theories and suggestions. This one, however, is truly by far the best one I’ve read. To me, it is the most readable, relatable, and comprehensive career book that brings out the best of theory with the author’s field experience.

I can't begin to describe how much I love this book. He has an example for every kind of person and situation. Plus, at the end of every chapter he gives you questions to think about in regard. I've given it to all my sisters. It's great for any age.

Actionable advice based on solid empirical evidence
The author articulates his ideas very clearly. His arguments are supported by empirical evidence of those that have succeeded in finding their passion, as well as those who have not.Students and fresh grads, read this before you accept your first job offer! Don't get into an occupation for the wrong reasons. The book has concrete ideas for how to find your passion, and a methodical process that has worked for many people.Parents should absolutely read this, because you are probably giving your kids poor career advice. For example, asking them to settle and take a more secure path, which in the long run is not secure at all as Larry explains in his insightful analysis.

Very nice book. Helps you go methodically to review your work. Whether you want to rethink your career, improve your approach to work, or be creative in a project, this book has useful advice. My suggestion: Use a pencil/highlighter or use the ebook highlighting function, or keep notes to later find the main conclusions.

A Rewarding Career regardless of your age!
This book is a must read for anybody who is struggling in their career and for students (and their parents) looking for guidance in regards to course/degree selection, to ensure that upon graduation, there is a strong demand for their skill set. Unfortunately, many people pursue careers that are based either on the employment requirements of the day or the positions with the highest financial reward. While this career strategy may have worked in previous decades, it is no longer a sustainable approach as the future demands of the work place will be defined by automation and sophisticate software applications. The combination of automation and software applications will render, what were deemed as secure well-paying jobs to be obsolete. The author, Larry Smith, outlines steps required to identify one’s passion, which can be translated into a successful career (i.e. good work life balance, great compensation, etc.) that can withstand technological change, uncertain economic and political trends. Finding your passion is emerging as the only sustainable strategy to have a career that is rewarding regardless of the surrounding circumstances. The last thing anyone wants to happen to their skill set, is to have it made redundant by automation!

Just like his lectures
I received the product in perfect condition. Having taken 3 courses by Larry (ECON 101, 102 and BET 100), the stories stay as true and as consistent as the lectures he instructed. Larry leads the reader to thoroughly reflect on one's passions, interests and goals. He asks difficult questions to encourage you to make thoughtful and decisive actions about discovering your passion and actioning it into a great career.

bello fino a metà
poi diventa di difficile lettura. ripetitivo e abbastanza noioso. Meglio libro di Simon Sinek. questo non vale la pena. Da valutare
