Heavy duty!
I got one of these used from my dad. It was heavy duty. I knew I wanted another one because I was so impressed with the first one. The trailer isnโt moving with a pair of these. I think they are way more stable than tire chokes.

Deluxe tire spreader/lock
I am on my 4th Trailer/RV. I have used different devices to keep my trailers from moving over the years. With tandem wheels the best way seems to put a spreader style lock between the tires. I have had a pair of this style for quite a while. They were the style that you adjusted them, then placed them between the tires and pulled a lever up while trying to keep the bottom from coming up, I did this with an old wrench holding the bottom down. With two bad shoulders this was getting to be a dreadful experience. Finally they were just too rusted and I just couldn't keep them adjusted.I have had my eye on this style for a while but thought they were expensive. Well I finally took the leap and I am happy I did. They are easy to put between the tires and crank them tight. My trailer is more stable now than ever before. I did buy two of them and a wrench came with each so I have a spare. The box wrench has two different sizes, one on each end. It is also a ratcheting wrench. So I marked the end that fits the device and also marked the wrench for which side to be up to put them on and which side to be up to take them off. This set up is so much easier! Suppose you could buy the cheaper set but I like the way these press and fit on the tires.Wish I would of bought these sooner.Update: We have used these on several trips now. Our trailer is SOOOO much more stable now. Very easy to put on and with these cranked tight and with my stabilizer pads down we are rock solid.

Chock is UNSAFE DO TO COG FAILURE
Please look at the photos. There is a set of cogs, inside, on each side to insure the clamp open and closes each side at the same rate. Note how the cogs are warn an / or missing. This allows the clamp to open and close at an uneven rate, I started the clamp (chock) square between the tires. By the time I had it installed the clamp was no longer square. This failure of the clamp may allow the clamp to fall out if the trailer should move, for some reason.Do not buy this clamp, it is unsafe to use.

I choose this model to minimize the number of moving parts.
Heavier than expected, this thing is solid!I choose this model to minimize the number of moving parts. I didn't think the part against the tire needs to articulate.I utilize a DeWalt 90 deg cordless drill with a 3/4" socket as the tool to spin it. 3/4" also fits the stabilizer jacks, so no more crank! (although the included wrench is pretty nice too!)I wonder if I should get a second for the other side?UPDATE: I did get a second one. I liked the BAL chock because it's heavy duty and minimizes moving parts. I use a DeWalt right angle cordless drill with a 3/4" socket to expand and contract. It's pretty stiff.Regular plastic or rubber wheel chocks don't work if you've leveled with wood blocks under the tires. You don't have to move it far to expand it into place. Maybe two inches? Zip, bang!

MUST HAVE CHOCKING SYSTEM - BUY 2
These are a must have in the recreational vehicle world. The most secure chocking system you can utilize for added stability on your unit. Ratcheting wrench included is a nice touch. You can just leave the wrench with the chock in box. One thing that would be nice is to have a way to lock the chock from being extended or retracted when in use so they canโt be stolen when in storage and/or at the rv site

These things are really sturdy. Haven't tested them out camping but did put them in place. I opted for this model because of the large foot print on the tire. As far as the wrench, they are not Snap On but should do the job. Some complaints on the quality of the wrenches may be due to over tightening. One reviewer reported tire damage after he put them on to tight. You are trying to spread the tires but you don't want to put a major crease in the tire thus why I opted for the larger foot print. I think the few extra bucks is worth it.
