Best book for knitting socks
I wanted to learn to knit socks. I first borrowed a book from the library and was confused, then borrowed this one and ended up ordering my own copy! Very clear and concise, has all the information you should need and with clear pictures for each stage.

Great Collection of Advice
My sister asked for this for Christmas. It's already being put to good use and is great for the modern knitter.

Hard to read text
Beautiful book, but baffled by the choice of grey ink for such a small, fine typeface. It's not as if the book is short of space for a larger font as there are lots of full page or double spreads of photographs of stylish but irrelevant props. And I'm short sighted. I'm good at reading small print. Anyone of a certain age who needs reading glasses is probably going to struggle. Real pity, as the information, directions and diagrams are solid, and result in well made and well fitting socks.

Absolutely brilliant
I know Lynne Rowe fairly well, and I think she would be shocked that I’ve actually bought some don’s, bought her book, and! I actually have my first knitted sock on the go, I’m a crocheter who has sworn I’d never knit, but Lynnes book has made it so simple! Very clear instructions, it’s brilliant! Even for a newbie beginner like me! Definitely worth buying

Includes newer techniques like magic loop
This book includes knitting techniques and yarn information that have changed and improved since I started knitting socks 30+ years ago. Some sock yarn is now reinforced with nylon for strength, which may be needed in the heel and toe areas where yarn is most likely to wear through from friction. And this book includes the magic loop technique for both one sock and two socks. Plus there are some very attractive patterns, both color work and ribs/cables. There are lots of colorful photos and illustrations, detailed instructions, and information about needle sizes, lengths, materials. It appears to live up to its name, the Sock Knitting Bible.

Lovely book, but tiny print is hard to read
This book has high quality paper and is illustrated beautifully with diagrams and photos demonstrating various techniques. The one issue is the tiny fonts used throughout much of the book and the lack of contrast in the print which is often over photos. Otherwise this is a wonderful addition to any knitters library.
