Perfect for sandy beaches
Have you noticed that the stakes that come with tents are useless? Straight nails that grip nothing. The slightest wind or nudge pulls them out of the ground. We have a privacy tent we setup at the beach where we park our truck. We bring a flushable portable toilet used on boats and camping trips. Bathrooms are impossible to find and if they exist, are always filthy. We needed stakes that can hold in the sand. These are the answer. Expensive but worth every penny. I mean these suckers held the tent in place with some fairly high winds at the beach. The last thing we want to happen is for the privacy tent to blow away will we we're sitting on the toilet. LOL

Perfect
Just tried these while backpacking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Held well in soft spring snow and were frozen in nicely by morning. A gentle kick or prodding with another stake got them to release pretty easily. I had a few orange REI snow stakes which also worked well. REI were cheaper but the MSR stakes are slightly wider and may hold a bit better. Both brands were about the same weight and worked well for me. The anodized color made them easy to see in the snow when packing up in the morning.

Stakes that stay in place!
Bought these for a snow trip in January for deadman anchors. These stakes did their job well. Kept my tent secure in 50 mph gusts. I recommend these things to everyone. MSR makes a great product.

Way too fragile
First time using them I used a stick to tap them further into the ground and 2 of them broke. garbage.

Strong.
It's clear when you pick up them up that these have a better heat treatment than cheaper similar stakes that are also high-grade aluminum. These are stiffer and stronger, but not heavier. Worth it if you can fit them in your budget or find them on sale.

Perfect
These are awesome for the beach! Using it for my snowpeak tarp and regular stakes just don't hold in sand at all. These work in soft sand and if it's windy I just dig down to the waterline to hit the harder wet stuff. Snow would be real easy as you could pack it all down to get a solid hold. The holes are a very solid tie down point too if your in need of serious guy lineage or to even tie multiple lines to one stake. Overall great design and now a necessity for me.

Not that big.
I added a picture for reference. These stakes are on the left. The one on the right is a fjallraven snow/sand peg.

Must have if you like camping on the beach!
Can't speak for the snow, but I got these in hopes to stake down my tarp poles while I was out camping on the beach in damp sand and I was not disappointed. I dug a shallow hole, hammered them in at a 45 degree angle, attached a guy line around the lip, and covered the hole with sand. Basically a dead man's anchor. They held for 5 straight days through light winds, a day of rain, and the occasional bumping of the head on the guy line. Kinda pricey but they're solid.

Expensive but really excellent.

This is a must item for winter camping. If Thor went winter camping, these are the stakes he'd bring. I bought the MSR Blizzard Stakes because I like to keep my tent standing when Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum.

Plenty to like, nothing to dislike! Will be using these tent stakes for pitching in snow and sand. Also helpful on boarding platforms.

These pegs are expensive but worth every penny. I use 6 (each tent) of them to secure my force 10 classics MK5 and MK4. The supplied v pegs would bend and almost gave up a few times as I am on the coast and the wind can be very powerful; especially hazardous with sandy soil. Having used these for 2 or 3 years or so I decided to buy another pack as I need 12 to secure both tents at the same time. The tent will not even budge and there is no damage ever caused by the strength of wind (which would normally buckle a v peg).
