21 Fine Filter Pads for Fluval FX4 / FX5 / FX6 by Zanyzap

Polishes the water very nicely. My only issue is they fill up quickly because they work so well. I have two FX4 systems for a 150 gallon tank and these work very well.

I use these filters in my fluval fx6 canister filter. Works same as factory fluval filters for fraction of cost.

This is definitely easier on the budget, however expect them to go flat in a week or two (depending on your load). I believe these were the cause of my motor going out because within a year of using these, I all of the sudden started having flow issues.The name brand is much thicker and sturdier, and allows water to flow better. Exactly the same as Marineland, Fluval, or other name brand filter material. They fit the FX5 perfect. These are a better choice for dirty fish than the white filters which clog easily. These blue filters are a coarser mesh. Use two at a time in your FX5 and when the top one is no longer able to be cleaned and/or falling apart then toss that one and put a new one under the not-so-dirty second pad which now becomes the top filter. Keep rotating like this and you will keep your beneficial bacteria at peak levels.On 05/25/2013 I paid $16.95 + $5.00 shipping for 21 of the blue filters.

Just put the first one in the filter if they work it will a significant cost savings over OEM

Great cost effective replacement filter for fx5 fluval cannister filter. Best used in 3rd basket oreo'd with a polishing pad in between two the the blue fine filter pads. you get 21 in a package and if you use in the above combination, you get nearly a years worth of filters in a single order if you swap out every 2 weeks. I have a 220 gallon tank, with several large mature fish (arowana, texas cichlid, osphronemus, clown knifes and more. range in size 6 inches to 2.5 ft)
