Good multi-purpose USB-C to whatever adapter
I like this product as a catch-all for USB-C based laptops but I wouldn't recommend it as a replacement for a well-powered desk dock. Think of it as more of a mobile option. I was able to get a USB-C PD brick that was 60w to work with this but it that doesn't really provide enough power to a laptop (Surface Book 2) for charging. The dock will take 15w. I found that the order in which things are presented is important for this to work well. Meaning that video out may appear not to work unless you plug in the dock then plug in a monitor. It took some trial and error to learn this and I thought I had a defective dock at first. I did not reach out to tech support before discovering this on my own.Otherwise, it is nice to have everything in one package. Only other annoyance is the shortness of the connector cable which is part of the device. I got an extension to help with this but seems not to work for video if you plan to use monitors. It'd be nice if the cable was disconnectable for replacements and longer cords. You'll be hard pressed to find another adapter with this many options at this price point.

Write Protect SDHC - Not
I am using this on a 2018 MacBook Pro.I haven't had the chance to use all the I/O ports that this offers yet, but what I have used seem to work fine with one exception. If you write protect your SD Card, this docking station ignores it. The write protect slider on SD cards only trips a flag, and it is up to the device to honor that write protect "suggestion" or ignore it. This docking station ignores it.Normally this wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but on some of the older CPAP machines it is. When you plug in your SD card, Mac OS X writes a few hidden folders and numerous files to the card. I can freely write to, and delete from a "write protected" card as well. On certain CPAP machines, these hidden files tend to wreak havoc or render useless further use of that modified card in the user's CPAP machine. This is a problem with the Resmed S8 CPAP machine and perhaps the Resmed S9. It doesn't seem to be a problem withe the Resmed Airsense 10 or Resmed AirCurve 10 models. My personal dislike is that it is rather large and bulky. If I could do a do-over, I would opt for several smaller, interface-specific devices instead of one big all-in-one unit. I have four ports on my MBP, but if you have very few ports, and don't care about write protecting your SD cards, this might serve your needs quite well.

Awesome gadget
I purchased this to have at the office as I take my macbook pro to and from. It is a great addition, I only have to plug 2 plugs in now. The only draw back is I have 2 monitors and I have to plug one direct to my laptop. The other monitor plugs into hub along with my ethernet, usb & power. There are enough slots for 2 monitors but it only supports 1. It would be 5 stars if it would support both monitors.

Generous USB ports
I bought a macbook pro, and needed to hook up my cinema display, external drives, and other usb stuff.i was a little concerned because I did not know the brand, but happily, it does everything I want. hardrives, printers, cinema display all connected.the thing I don't like about it is the USB-C cord is very short - like 2 1/2" . so I have this thing right next to my laptop, not out of sight. big jumble of cords - not a clean install.still, it does what it's supposed to do, not gonna return it.

Rather finicky for a docking station
Overall, a decent collection of inputs. However, as a docking station, it can be difficult to manage.Often, after unplugging the laptop from this dock, it will not be recognized by the laptop when it is reconnected. When this occurs, one has to first disconnect the dock. Then disconnect each device (In my case, 2 monitors, network cable, and 3 usb devices) from the dock, plug the dock into the laptop, and then reconnect each device. If I wanted to reconnect each device manually each time I move away from my desk, I wouldn't have bought a docking station. For now, it seems to work fairly reliably if I make sure that the laptop is plugged into A/C before disconnecting the dock and also when reconnecting the dock. If I fail to plug in the power before reconnecting the dock, I can be sure to have to go through the entire ritual of unplugging and reconnecting each device. One other frustration is that I have an HDMI adaptor for the mini DPI port because my monitors don't support DPI. This causes the connected monitor to show up as a generic display instead of a PNP monitor. This, in turn, means that calibrating colors on 2 identical monitors is impossible. I suppose this can't actually be blamed on the docking station, since is is likely to be a factor of the HDMI adapter, but it still adds to the overall frustration of using this product.UPDATED 12/4/2021Downgrading review to 2 stars. It turns out, there's no reliable way to insure that it will reconnect when plugged back in.At this point, it essentially acts like the opposite of a docking station. I now have more steps to reconnect my laptop than I would if I didn't use this device at all. Combining this with the fact that I can't reliably calibrate one of my 2 monitors results in nothing but regret for my purchase.UPDATED 12/11/2021Now the Ethernet connection seems to have burned out. It can only maintain a connection for about 5 minutes (max). Unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging back in will fix, but only for a few minutes.All-in-all, not a docking station at all.

A Very Solid USB-C Dock for my MacBook Pro
I got tired of bringing my OWC Thunderbolt 3 - USB-C dock back and forth from office to home. It’s heavy and has long chords and a transformer brick. Most important for me is that this dock offer mini display port connectivity. At home I use my 27” iMac as a second big screen for my 2017 MacBook Pro and absolutely had to have the mini display port capability. To that end the Iogear Dock has worked flawlessly and all other USB connections have worked without fail.I did find that an older Apple 24” aluminum frame Cinema Display would not work with the dock, yet the vintage 30” Cinema Display did. From my research I gathered that it was an issue with the tech in the 24” monitor, not with the Iogear dock.

10 ports, but you can only use a couple at a time
I bought the IOGEAR Compact USB-C Docking Station with PD Pass-Thru, GUD3C03 because I have an old Apple Cinema display that uses MiniDisplay port and this is the only dock I have found that supports it. It worked beautifully the first day, then never again. My set up is: display connected via hdmi, two external hard drives (one USB, one USB-C), ethernet, sometimes phone charging. Spoke with customer service and they effectively said that is too much for the dock to handle. Every time my machine goes to sleep, the two external hard drives disconnect repeatedly--like 30 times while I was gone for lunch. The dock runs very hot, as did the hard drives connected to it. And the cord is ridiculously short. My laptop is on a stand and I had to put a bunch of books as a support to get the dock near the ports on the Mac. Nice looking, but overall, not up to the task of making up for Apple's ridiculous design decision to put only two USB ports on their new MacBook Pros.

Please avoid this "Dock"
I bought this (GUD3C03) thinking that I would be able to use it as a dock for my laptop (Lenovo Yoga 720 15"). The USB ports do not provide enough power for my main mouse (Steelseries Rival) to stay connected, other less functional mice can be powered properly. It does not provide enough power for either of my 1tb portable hard drives (Adata CH11) where one will cycle power approximately once per second and the other can stay spinning for maybe 2 seconds. Hard drives were tested separately. Desktop external drives requiring an independent power supply can send data though the dock. The HDMI port works on its own, the displayport works on its own, but they do not work together. This is a super pointless dock, I waited to post this review until I could confirm the video output and USB power issues. Do not buy this dockedit:The cable is astoundingly short, I had to buy an extension to get the dock away from the side of my laptop so I could use a mouse. The port layout is terrible because if you need to have something plugged into each side of the dock, the footprint becomes greater than that of your laptop.

The cable length is too small so if you only have one port on your laptop like me and it's on the right side (and you ...
It's okay, I use it as a docking station for my laptop. When I turn my laptop on in the mornings, most of the time I have to unplug and re-plug the dinky little cable back in because the laptop doesn't detect that there is a charger attached or one of the USB devices isn't being recognized. Very frustrating considering that the only thing changed is a proper Windows shutdown. The cable length is too small so if you only have one port on your laptop like me and it's on the right side (and you have multiple monitors), you need to re-arrange your try and fit it. Overall I wouldn't bother buying this and wish I could return it.

Great docking station, does exactly what it supposed to
Great docking station, supports external monitor (I got only one + laptop) and power pass through, so I can charge my laptop at the same time. The only gotcha is that it needs an external USB-C power supply in order to have enough power for itself and for charging. I happened to have a 90W power supply, so it wasn't an issue, but if you don't you might need to buy it separately.

Excellent USB-C docking station...
Stable, works as advertised, and no issues to name. Multi-monitor out is excellent.Keep in mind that this is NOT Thunderbolt 3... ...it is USB 3.1. It will work in a Thunderbolt 3 port USB-C port, but the station operates at a max of 10 Gbps.
