Great Advice from an advisor to G7 leaders
I'm not normally a fan of "write like you speak," and I often remind people I'm mentoring that written English and spoken English aren't identical. But there are no absolutes, and Mark Bowden's prose is very much like listening to his lectures -- in a good way. Warm, and accessible, but without a lot of fluff.

Really useful
Really enjoying this book. It's written in a very accesible style, but for all that I think the author shares some really enlightening understanding of our 'lizard' brains at work. It's quite humbling to realise just how all of us are influenced (even controlled at times) by a powerful, pre-verbal part of our brains, and to see how easily this part of the brain leads us into trouble and problems with others. I'd recommend this to any manager, or employee: just understanding begins to change the way you behave and react.

Insightful, well-researched, actionable ideas on personal communications
Tame The Primitive Brain is an insightful book with lots of actionable ideas.I read Mark Bowden's previous 2 books, and this one is my favorite. The content is extremely well researched. He goes into a great deal of detail on brain science, and how the brain influences our physical communications. And at the end of each chapter he shares a short coaching tip to apply the ideas into real life. This book functions well as a personal coaching and leadership book. Mark has taken his expertise of body language and public speaking, and applied it to day-to-day communications. It's a really neat angle, and one I hadn't considered before. The structure is accessible, and works well as a reference guide. I've found myself looking up specific chapters after the fact as I come across relevant situations at work. This is definitely a book I'll keep around, and refer to regularly.

Primitive brain
Good book. We have a mind and a brain. React from what your brain thinks and not your mind.
