Working well so far
We've been using these for a few months now. They work well for cleaning our clothes (of course some deep stains still require a spaying for which I use Castille liquid soap watered down in a spray bottle). They really last for more uses than the instructions say, and after I switch them out for laundry, I boil the used ones in water and still get a soapy solution for other uses. We use that liquid for the dishwasher, hand dish washing, shampoo and shower soap. Bear in mind that natural soaps are not bubbly soapy like other soaps and shampoos because they do not contain the chemical additive to create the soapy bubbles which are not naturally occurring. But you still get a good clean, a better natural clean.

My new favorite laundry soap!
I wash my clothes in cold so what I do is heat up a coffee mug of water in the microwave then steep the canvas bag filled with 1/2 ounce of soap nuts in the hot water for 2-3 minutes. I then pour the "soap nut tea" in my washing machine and wash as normal.Additional tips:The canvas bag that came with the soap nuts features a drawstring top which is nearly impossible to loosen if it is tightened while the strings are wet. I ended up having to cut them off entirely. Luckily, I own a snap press so I installed a line of plastic snaps onto the draw string bag then attached an elastic hair tie to use like you would a string on a tea bag. Not only is the bag easier to open and close now, but it also lays a lot flatter and gives the soap nuts more wiggle roomThe bag containing the soap nuts is going to drip a lot after being removed from your 'soap nut tea'. I suggest you hang it on your kitchen faucet to avoid puddles.Once your bag and soap nuts within the bag are completely dry, squeeze them. If they have a lot of give to them, they are done and need changing (according to instructions, anyway). HOWEVER, you can always get one more use out of them by keeping the bag in the mug of water while microwaving it. This essentially cookes the soap nuts and gives you one last, very concentrated batch of soap nut tea.Use a food scale to measure out as close to 0.5 ounces as you can. If you dont have a food scale, use 4 medium/large nuts of 5 small ones.If you are lucky to find a seed amongst your soap nut shells (a seed will look like a black pit), PLANT IT! You can actually grow your very own soap nut tree!!!Don't use soap nuts for cloth diapers. It just doesn't work well at all.Compost spent soap nuts! Don't have a compost pile? No problem! Just throw them outside in your yard. I love that there's no waste with these.

My new best friend for laundry!
I tried the sampler pack first to make sure this product was going to work well for my family. We have a daughter who has been diagnosed with allergies to several chemicals common in laundry detergents, shampoos, and other personal care products. I needed to find a natural, chemical-free alternative to conventional laundry detergent. Soap Nuts held the answer, and the folks at NaturOli have been helpful and responsive to my few emails during this research process.Soap Nuts are not nuts at all, they are a dried fruit from a tree, and called Soap Nuts or Soap Berries. They release a natural soap that launders, cleans, freshens, deodorizes, and generally de-gunks anything you can think of. NaturOli produces laundry, household, and personal care products with care and quality. I appreciate their approach to business, because they offer prompt and personalized customer service as folks need input or information. You don't get that from many online retailers, and I want to spread the word that NaturOli behaves like the ethical, natural, helpful company they claim to be! Thank you again, NaturOli!I am also happy to say that Soap Nuts are a GREAT VALUE! Even averaging about one and a half loads of laundry per day (somewhere around 10 loads per week for a family of 5), I would be shocked if these three pounds of Soap Nuts were used more quickly than 9 months. Look at the price! What a bargain!MdpTX

Good quality
These are fresh and packaged well. Soap nuts don't seem to take stains out of laundry, but gets clothes generally clean. I use more than the recommended amount to get more suds. What do you expect from a berry, I guess. I plan to make a solution to use for hand soap dispensers and glass cleaner. Good product, i just don't plan to use it for all of my laundry needs all of the time.

What a money saver!
Love this product for every day laundry. Nice mild scent and easy to use. Saves me a bundle on laundry detergent. Winner in my book.

NaturOli Soap Nuts / Soap Berries. 3-Lbs USDA ORGANIC + 18X BONUS! Select...
Not a big fan of these soap nuts. I have a brown ring in my washer from using them. I started making liquid in my ice cube trays in hopes the brown build up doesn't keep happening. I think they get the clothes clean but I always use a scoop of oxi-clean with them.

Wonderful multi-purpose nuts!
I love this soap nuts. They work great on their own, or when boiled to make a liquid. I usually take about 1/4 cup of "berries" and boil it in about 2 quarts of filtered water. I let it simmer for about 30 minutes, then I let it sit with the berries in to cool. I drain it over cheesecloth into a glass jar. I usually add a little vinegar to help it stay fresh (or keep it in the fridge). This liquid is great for laundry and cleaning. The used soap nuts usually end up in my compost pile.Much more economical than any other detergent. Great for cloth diapers! I love it!

This stuff is great. It really works
This stuff is great. It really works. I was kinda skeptical at first, but after sticking some of these nuts in a mason jar filled with water, I was a believer. The stuff really does get soapy. I love that I don't have to put harmful chemicals in my wash to get the clothes clean. This has no scent, just a clean scent. It's awesome! I've given some away to some friends to show them it works. :-) It doesn't take stains out though. I've purchased Bac Out and I also have Seventh Generation's laundry detergent for the times my kids get heavy stains on their clothes. I'll apply directly to the stain and throw it into the wash.
